A hands-on and professionally strong deputy head for Børnehuset Halgård Enge

We are looking for someone who has relationship skills and can ask the good reflective questions so that children, staff and parents succeed together. You support teamwork and will be a co-creator of a workplace where trust, togetherness and enthusiasm are fundamental.

In Børnehuset Halgård Enge we are well on our way to building the foundation for our new nursery and are seeking a new deputy head as of February 1, 2027, who will join a strong leadership team with our head.

You are engaged in the task of starting a new institution with drive, energy and flexibility. There are no “old habits” here yet, and together we shall shape the direction that will form the framework for a secure everyday life for children and parents, and lay the groundwork for a strong workplace community.

About the job – sustainable, relational and authentic guiding principles

In our pedagogical work we have a special focus on relationships and positive interaction, and we meet our children and parents with an appreciative and welcoming approach. The pedagogical direction is built around 3 overarching themes: sustainable relationships, diversity and nature education - which are brought to life with starting points in the ideas and interests of children and staff.

You will be part of a close collaboration in the leadership team and at the same time have the opportunity to exercise authenticity in your tasks and in your leadership. You will have influence on the further development of Børnehuset, including the interior design of play environments and shared facilities indoors and out, as well as planning a new common pedagogical organization and practice.

Your main tasks include

• Exercise professional and practice-oriented leadership in close collaboration with your head.
• Translate professionalism in collaboration with the staff group so that it becomes the framework for the concrete meeting with each child or child group.
• Acknowledge employees' competencies and potentials for the benefit of the well-being of both children and adults
• Be the facilitator and navigate professionally competent and empathetic in complex child matters
• Organize and structure work plans and support a stable and secure practice, including using the systems Infoba, Teams, Hjernen and Hjertet and SBSYS.
• Support cross-disciplinary collaboration, both in Børnehuset and in cross-disciplinary cooperation with Videncenteret and our other partners.

About you – you bring professionalism, presence and enthusiasm

You are educated as a pedagogue and stand strong in your pedagogical professionalism and have pride and enthusiasm for your profession. Maybe you already have leadership experience and a leadership education, or are motivated to pursue further education. In addition, we are curious about to what extent you;

• Are professionally curious, good at sparring and have the courage to challenge the dialogue.
• Communicate respectfully, clearly, professionally and inclusively – both in writing and speaking

What you will meet with us

You will meet a brand new nursery, which welcomed the first children and their parents in September 2025. The nursery is normed for 100 kindergarten children and 48 toddlers divided into 4 kindergarten groups and 3 toddler groups.

We expect to hold first interview on Wednesday 25 November 2026 and second interview on Monday 7 December 2026.

If you go on to the 2nd interview round, you will be invited to complete a personal profile and participate in a personal feedback session in HR on 30 November 2026.

Salary and employment conditions

We offer a permanent position with start as soon as possible, but no later than 1 February 2027. Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the relevant professional organization and the Local Government Denmark and negotiated with the professional organization.
