At Southeast Denmark Education Center (UCE) we are seeking a visionary and action-oriented chief who will be responsible for preparing UCE for the upcoming EPX education and lead our 10th grade offering, GOLD10.

EPX will be one of the biggest changes to youth education ever. For us, the task is about far more than establishing yet another education. It is about creating an attractive offering that gives more young people the desire to pursue a youth education, strengthens their opportunities later in life and contributes to the development of our local area.

You will therefore also have a central role in ensuring that EPX becomes a success in UCE’s catchment area – Lolland-Falster and South Zealand.

GOLD10 - a success that must be continued

As school leader at GOLD10 you will have the overall administrative and pedagogical responsibility for the offering and its students. You will be the principal of a competent team, engaged in the target group and in creating the best possible conditions for the young people.

GOLD10 is an attractive offering for young people who want a year of both academic and personal development. Here, teaching starts from the individual student’s interests and possibilities, and students encounter an environment where community, academic rigor and awareness of the individual’s next step go hand in hand.

You will lead a well-cohesed team with plenty of ambition and ideas. A team that is passionate about the target group, about the idea behind GOLD10 and that wishes the many good experiences from GOLD10 to benefit the upcoming EPX education. The team behind GOLD10 has year after year raised the quality of the 10th grade offering in Guldborgsund Municipality and last summer 99% of their mathematics exam.

EPX - a new task with enormous significance

EPX will not succeed by itself. It must be developed in close collaboration with other schools, our students, staff and, of course, the local municipalities, companies and a wide range of partners. It is a major project that requires a balance between development and daily operations, so that we create new opportunities and also preserve the good daily life for students and staff.

It has not yet been decided which schools will offer EPX. However, UCE already has many of the competencies and experiences that will be decisive for a strong EPX. Today we offer vocational education, gymnasial education and 10th grade. We have modern laboratories, workshops and learning environments where teaching builds on practical problems, real-life projects and concrete solutions. We will, of course, bring these into play so that EPX becomes beneficial for our region.

You will be the driving force that unites the school and other stakeholders around the task and translates the ambitions into a concrete education of high quality, strong identity and local relevance. In other words, ensure that we are ready – academically, organizationally and culturally – when EPX opens in 2030.

Your main tasks

You will be responsible for

• overseeing the daily personnel management of GOLD10 and ensuring that a good offering is maintained and developed
• coordinating with internal and external partners and representing GOLD10 to municipalities, schools and others.
• supporting and occasionally participating in dialogue with students, parents and relevant authorities

lead UCE’s contribution to the upcoming EPX in the school’s local area

• contribute to strengthening internal collaboration and shaping the coming EPX teacher's room, so that it has a common professional direction and a strong culture around the new education
• create coherence between UCE's existing educations, including GOLD10, and the upcoming EPX
• build strong partnerships with municipalities, companies and other partners
• translate the national frameworks for the EPX education into our local reality

We are not looking for an administrator. We are looking for a capable leader who can both sustain success as a success and develop a new one in the form of EPX. A pragmatist who is focused on the good everyday life for students and staff at the school. A bridge-builder who can translate the grand visions behind EPX into an education that young people want to choose and who wants to take a leading role in the operation of EPX when it becomes a reality.

As head of EPX development and school leader for GOLD10 you will report directly to the school director.

Your qualifications

• Has documented leadership experience from the education sector
• Has solid teaching experience from gymnasiale uddannelser (upper secondary education) and preferably familiarity with the primary school 10th grade
• Has strong competencies and experience with school operations
• Has experience with large development projects
• Is a clear, decisive and trust-building leader with an inclusive leadership style
• Thrives with a broad responsibility area and many diverse tasks
• Has a genuine interest in students and employees and meets them with curiosity and respect
• Knowledge of and interest in Lolland-Falster and the region’s conditions would be an advantage

Work hours

The position is a full-time role with no upper limit on working time.

Employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
