A position as department head in Nanortalik's Housing for People with Disabilities, protected workshop and support persons, is available to be filled as of 1 December 2026, or by agreement.

Organizationally, the area belongs to the Social Administration's Disability Area in the Municipality of Kujalleq, where the immediate supervisor is the disability coordinator for housing facilities and protected workshops as well as support persons.

The position’s responsibilities include

·Ensure daily operation and coordination of housing units for citizens with disabilities, activity and social center in Nanortalik

·Supervise and coordinate the support work in the housing units

·Supervise and coordinate the work of support persons for residents living in their own homes

·Ensure that applications are processed according to the adopted benefit and quality standards

·Ensure continuous on-the-job training in the area of support persons and development of the area and raise the quality

·Ensure outreach work and have insight into cross-disciplinary collaboration where citizens require a support person

·Ensure continuous and close cross-disciplinary collaboration with internal and external partners

·Ensure that an annual report is prepared for the Disability Coordinator

From the qualifications we expect;

• That you are trained social educator (social pedagogue) or similar education
• That you have management experience
• That you have experience coordinating support persons
• That you possess responsibility and autonomy to solve the task, and have good ideas and initiative for new measures, and good planning
• That you have experience with administrative tasks and finances, and good IT skills
• That you possess good communication and dissemination skills, and are goal-oriented
• That you have the necessary knowledge of case processing, and have good written and spoken formulation ability in both Greenlandic and Danish

Employment and remuneration

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement for the Greenland Self-Government and in the Municipalities in force at the time of appointment. For external applicants, housing will be provided according to family size, and moving and travel expenses will be covered according to applicable rules

The appointment will be made with a 3-month probationary period.

Criminal record

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child record and a criminal record. Under the law, employment can only begin when the Municipality has received the certificates
