About the job

Maritime Capacity Center seeks an experienced and structured leader with technical understanding, good overview and interest in materiel, maintenance and operations.

You will play a central role in ensuring effective and well-functioning support for the Defence's maritime materiel. We would like you to have experience with SAP, particularly within MM (Materials Management) and PM (Plant Maintenance), and to be able to contribute to developing and optimizing the use of the system's existing functions within the materiel- and maintenance area.

About us

The Defence Agency for Materiel and Procurement (FMI), Maritime Division (KAMA) has its headquarters in Ballerup and is the overall system owner for all Defence ships and vessels, maritime systems, and maritime materiel.

The Business Area for Maritime Platforms is organizationally placed under the Chief of the Maritime Division. We work with the entire lifecycle of materiel – from procurement and implementation of maritime materiel and smaller vessel procurements, to maintenance, modernization and finally disposal. In short, we take responsibility for the materiel from the "cradle to grave".

The business area consists of 40 dedicated employees, distributed among both civilian and military staff, including nine capacity managers with separate areas of responsibility. To be close to our users (the Navy), we have colleagues at two shipyards at Flådestation Frederikshavn and Flådestation Korsør.

You can expect a challenging daily life in a dynamic environment with an open and informal tone, where professionalism, daily sparring and good colleagues are in focus. We offer a flexible daily life with respect for individual competencies, giving you ample opportunity to plan tasks and work routines yourself

We place emphasis on a good working environment with focus on collaboration based on each employee's competencies.

About the position

As Section Manager for the Operations and Support Section you will have a varied managerial role with responsibility for a broad portfolio of technical and administrative tasks.

You will be the line manager for 10 dedicated employees with different professional competencies. Therefore, we are seeking a clear, approachable and engaged manager who can provide direction while also focusing on well-being, development, collaboration and good results.

A significant part of the role involves coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including users, suppliers and other partners. It is therefore important that you are good at building relationships, communicating across disciplines and getting different perspectives to meet in common solutions.

The daily work is varied and characterized by many simultaneous tasks. You must therefore be able to prioritize, maintain an overview and ensure progress – even when several tasks require attention at the same time.

You will contribute to ensuring that maritime materiel is available, maintained and supported in an effective and economically responsible way. This includes a focus on operational stability, maintenance planning, materiel management and continuous improvement of workflows and processes.

The position also gives you an important role in connection with upcoming new-build and replacement procurements of ships, vessels and other maritime materiel. Here you will, among other things, help ensure that new solutions are integrated in a suitable way with existing systems, processes and organizational frameworks.

The Defence is undergoing significant development and expansion of its maritime capabilities, and the position thus offers the opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and the long-term development of the area.

About you

You have a relevant advanced education, preferably within a technical, logistical, or operations-focused area.

Your specific educational background is not decisive. The most important thing is that you have the experience, leadership understanding and professional weight needed to lead a complex operations- and support function.

We emphasize that you

  • work in a structured way and maintain an overview
  • take initiative and follow up tasks to completion
  • thrive in a varied daily life and multiple concurrent tasks
  • can prioritize and keep focus on what matters
  • have leadership experience and are able to create direction, engagement and development
  • have strong collaboration and relation-building skills
  • can work across disciplines and organizational levels
  • have good judgement and can make decisions
  • communicate clearly, professionally and constructively
  • express yourself confidently in both Danish and English, orally and in writing.

It is also advantageous if you have experience with or an interest in materiel procurement, materiel operation and maintenance.

Experience with SAP is highly valued, particularly within MM and PM.

Conditions of employment

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement at any given time.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating a supplement. There is a government-financed pension scheme associated with the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must be able to undergo a security clearance and maintain the clearance throughout the employment.

As an employee, you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict-prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
