About the job

Relationally strong and ambitious educator for Højen School and SFO!

It’s now or never if you want to be part of Højen School. We are looking for a trained educator who can contribute with enthusiasm and ambitions on behalf of the children in both SFO and the school. Do you want to be part of a strong team at a small school and SFO with high well-being, high academic level and high job satisfaction? Community, professionalism, belonging and diversity, that’s how Højen School and SFO are!

“What makes Højen School special is that it is a school with incredibly many engaged and skilled teachers and educators who always have the children in mind, and where there is freedom to develop new and different solutions,” says the former chair of the board.

About the job

As an educator you will have hours in both the school and the SFO, and you must therefore be passionate about applying educational professionalism in both places.

At Højen School, we do not have traditional class educators, as the hours are instead used in the school’s well-being team. Here, educators and the AKT teacher work together to increase student well-being through community-oriented initiatives that strengthen the children’s opportunities to participate. In addition, you will also have some hours where you are alone with teaching a class, e.g. in ‘klassens tid’ (the class’s time).

In the SFO you will collaborate with a team of competent educators, teaching assistants and, in periods, students to create an attractive leisure-time offering for our SFO children. The SFO is used by about 110 children from 0th to 6th grade, and we place a strong emphasis on cross-age community. Every day there is a varied range of activities or joint projects where you can contribute your skills and interests. We look forward to hearing what you are passionate about.

The SFO is open from 6:30-8:00 and again from school dismissal until 17:00. You must be prepared to have some morning openings and other days when you close the SFO. A work plan for one year is drawn up, where we try to create as much flexibility as possible for you and your colleagues. In the weeks when the school is closed and the SFO stays open, separate work plans with other working hours are made.

We expect that you

  • have an easy smile and can create good positive relationships with children and adults,
  • are passionate about creating good conditions for play and are willing to lead by example, … or be the one who sits on the floor and builds Lego with a group of children on their initiative,
  • have strong relational skills and insist that all children can develop,
  • believe that children and parents do their best in a given situation,
  • can create participation opportunities for all children and support colleagues in their ability to do the same,
  • are stable and clear,
  • are educated as an educator (pædagoguddannet),
  • are professionally grounded in leisure-time pedagogy, and can bring it into play in both school and SFO,
  • are happy with teamwork because you know we can learn a lot from each other,
  • can join a professional learning community with the other colleagues and the leadership,
  • are a skilled classroom leader who can create learning spaces and social communities based on each child’s resources, where there is room for diversity,
  • are good at leading a child community,
  • want to be involved in shaping Højen School and SFO.
