Hospice South Jutland seeks kitchen staff in maternity cover 30 hours/week. January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027. Possibility of starting earlier.

Hospice Sønderjylland is a self-governing institution and part of Region South's specialized palliative care offers. We provide care, comfort and palliative treatment to incurably sick and dying patients.

In our daily work we place great emphasis on the interdisciplinary effort, which in addition to kitchen, technical and administrative staff as well as a volunteer coordinator, is provided by doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, psychologist, social worker, musician and priest. In the whole house we are 50 employees.

The kitchen is staffed by 4 nutrition-trained professionals. The house also has a large group of about 40 engaged volunteers who help with selected tasks.

We have room for 12 patients and the kitchen prepares daily meals for patients, relatives and staff. We emphasize that the food is made from scratch.

We are seeking nutrition-related staff.

Work primarily weekdays 7:00-15:00 and every 3rd weekend 7:00-15:00

Job duties.

• Prepare and plate hot and cold dishes for patients, relatives and staff.
• Participate in the daily production on weekdays and every 3rd weekend
• Participate in the entire production flow with production of cold and hot meals, washing up and cleaning.
• Actively work for a good working climate and contribute to the good interdisciplinary cooperation between the staff and the volunteers linked to Hospice Sønderjylland.
• Collaborate with volunteers in functions around meals, service, clearing and washing up.

Competencies and qualifications

• Nutrition education, e.g., nutrition assistant, kitchen assistant, cater, cook or other relevant education
• Be creative and innovative in cooking
• Be good at plating and place emphasis on small details
• Be happy to collaborate with different professional groups

Terms of employment

• The position is a maternity cover starting January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible. It is expected to run until December 31, 2027 or until the permanent employee returns from maternity leave.
• Hospice Sønderjylland has a service agreement with Region South, and therefore follows the regional collective agreements.

Based on your education you will be placed under the Agreement on Pay and Working Conditions for house assistants etc. (house assistants) or Agreement for non-managerial staff in the Health Cartel’s area (nutrition assistants).
