About the job

Are you passionate about working with sickness absence, and can you translate data and HR tools into concrete actions that create wellbeing and a better working environment in the organization? Then you are the one we are looking for for an exciting 2-year project appointment.

Welcome to Tårnby Municipality In Tårnby Municipality we want to be an attractive workplace with high wellbeing and low sickness absence. Therefore, we have been granted a two-year project position, which will work with a focused, strategic effort to reduce sickness absence across the municipality’s workplaces.

As our new HR consultant, your primary task will be to lead this project – in collaboration with the current HR team – and support our leaders in preventing and managing sickness absence. We see sickness absence in close interaction with wellbeing, the working environment, and leadership, so the focus will be on helping the workplace work with wellbeing and culture.

Here is your everyday life in the Center for HR You will become part of the Center for HR, which is characterized by professional pride, close collaboration and an informal tone. We are a dedicated and cross-disciplinary center that every day supports the municipality’s leaders so they can succeed in their core tasks. The center consists of an HR team with 3 HR consultants, 9 payroll and personnel consultants, 3 economic staff members and a center chief.

You will join the existing HR team. We expect the sickness absence initiative to run across the team, and therefore you will have close partnership with the other HR consultants. At the same time, you will have close collaboration with the payroll and personnel consultants to ensure coherence between advisory work, administration, and the overall absence initiative.

With us you will have a daily life with room to breathe, space for humor, and great influence over your own tasks. We place a high value on mutual sparring and a strong collegial community.

Your main tasks will be

  • Project management: Drive and implement the municipality's overall sickness absence project, including facilitating workshops and processes that strengthen the working environment at the workplaces.
  • Leadership support: Advise and spar with leaders on prevention, handling and follow-up on sickness absence.
  • Training and workshops for leaders: Prepare leaders for effective sickness absence conversations and convey applicable rules, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Data and analysis: Identify absence trends through data and translate insights into concrete action plans.
  • Development of tools and methods: Optimize and implement common guidelines, conversation guides, and HR tools for absence management.
  • Administrative tasks: Handle coordination, meeting scheduling, planning, and operational tasks that naturally come with a smaller team.

This is what you should be able to do In the position you will have a central role in driving the sickness absence effort from analysis and planning to implementation and follow-up. You will therefore need to be able to work strategically, facilitate processes, and get close to the organization's daily life when leaders need sparring and concrete tools.

A key part of the job is to be visible in the organization and build good relationships with leaders and employees. You must be able to motivate, build trust and at the same time challenge constructively when there is a need to look at habits, workflows or managerial approaches. You should meet leaders and employees where they are, and you are curious about the organization’s different workplaces. As a person you work in a structured way, take independent initiative and thrive on being proactive and visible across the municipality’s many different workplaces.

We imagine that you have experience with HR, occupational health and safety, or sickness absence initiatives. It is an advantage if you have worked specifically with reducing sickness absence in a public organization, but this is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have the right competences and motivation to drive an initiative that makes a difference.

As the Center for HR is a smaller department, you should be motivated by a varied daily life, where there are both development tasks and practical administrative tasks.

More about us If you are curious and want to know more about the job, you are welcome to contact HR and Training Consultant Janus Gehrke Hesselberg at phone 3247 1263 or HR and Occupational Health & Safety Consultant Eleen Haubjerg Hansen at phone 3247 1256.

The application deadline is November 19 2026.

We expect to hold interview rounds in week 48 (1st interviews Monday, November 23, 2026 and Wednesday, November 25, 2026, and 2nd interview Friday, November 27, 2026 ). You can expect to complete a talent test in connection with the hire.

Expected start: We want you to start no later than February 1, 2027, preferably already January 1, 2027.

Salary and terms of employment Your educational background is not decisive. We primarily emphasize your professional and relational competencies as well as your ability to collaborate closely with the rest of the HR team and deliver results across the organization.

The position is a fixed-term project appointment for 2 years with a 37-hour work week. The appointment is made under the applicable collective agreement after negotiation.

In addition, a criminal record check must be presented at the time of hire. The appointment will be conditional on this being satisfactory.
