Intern Doctors for the Department of Anesthesiology, Zealand University Hospital, Køge

Do you want to work in the most exciting medical specialty in a department with skilled and dedicated colleagues, then at the Anesthesiology Department, SUH Køge, two 1-year introductory positions available for filling respectively from February 1, 2027 (3800E50-84-i-03) and March 1, 2027 3800E50-84-i-01.

We are looking for a doctor with

• good collaboration and communication skills
• initiative and responsibility regarding one’s own learning, as well as the ability to handle a steep learning curve
• commitment and willingness to dedicate themselves to the task
• interest in acute work and procedures
• desire and strong ability to work across specialties
• interest in teaching

The department follows the training program from the Danish Anesthesiology Society (DASAIM). The target description and the Portfolio can be found on the society’s website www.dasaim.dk.

You will have a planned training program over 10-12 weeks, during which you will not be on call. Thereafter you will join the on-call team with an independent function. On-call work is covered by 3 doctors (1 junior doctor and 2 specialists).

About the department

The Anesthesiology Department is a department in growth, both in terms of clinical activity, increasing complexity related to the ongoing reintroduction of highly specialized functions, education and not least research. Organizationally, the Anesthesiology Department, SUH Roskilde, and the Anesthesiology Department, SUH Køge, have had a joint department leadership since March 2019 and we look forward to a merger that will naturally bring new and unknown opportunities and initiatives.

The department is characterized by good multidisciplinary collaboration. We work in a changing everyday life, both due to numerous acute patient courses and due to larger and smaller changes that are a step in the hospital’s development into a large university hospital, which will accommodate the region’s highly specialized treatments and bring together the related professional specialties.

It is a large department with about 550 staff, including about 85 physicians. There is excellent collaboration in the medical group, which is flexible and looks for solutions and development opportunities. The department is divided into 3 operating theaters, two day-surgery departments, two recovery units, two intensive care units, and a cross-disciplinary pain center.

Annually, about 26,000 procedures are performed with anesthesia. In Køge, procedures within orthopedics, parenchymal surgery, plastic surgery, dento-maxillofacial surgery and ear-nose-throat surgery are performed. In Roskilde, anesthesia is provided for procedures performed by the urology, gynecologic-obstetric, vascular, breast surgery and plastic surgery departments. There are 9 intensive care beds in Køge and 6 beds in Roskilde.

Region Zealand and Region Capital Denmark will become Region Østdanmark as of January 1, 2027 due to the health reform. Your placement area will be Region Østdanmark with all associated organizational units.

Starting salary for employees covered by collective agreement

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told the basic salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
