Introductory position in emergency medicine in Kolding

We are seeking three introductory physicians in acute medicine with start date from 1 March 2027 or as agreed

You will become part of the acute medicine team, where the Emergency Department in Kolding is at the forefront of the development of the acute medical field: both in the acute reception and in cross-sector solutions with the patient at the center. In the acute reception we have training doctors at all levels: pre-graduate, intern training (KBU) and physicians in introductory and main training positions in acute medicine.

In addition, we participate in the training of internal medicine residents, general practitioners, etc. Your learning curve will be steep and your supervision opportunities very good, as we prioritize education and a good learning environment highly.

Your duties as an introductory physician

During your twelve-month appointment in the emergency department, you will be attached to the three major specialties: internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery and organ surgery. The main emphasis is on internal medicine.

The core task for you as an acute medicine physician is to receive, assess, examine, diagnose and treat the acutely ill patient in close multidisciplinary collaboration.

In addition you will gain skills in, among other things, ultrasound, flow management, procedures such as lumbar puncture and thoracentesis, reception of the unstable patient as, among other things, team leader, as well as in clinical supervision of KBU doctors and medical students. We also introduce you to prehospital triage and treatment options.

The position in our department includes, among other things

• Teaching in acute medical ultrasound protocols
• EMCC course (Emergency Medicine Core Competences)
• Procedure shifts with opportunities for supervised training
• Sweeper shifts aimed at supervised reception and stabilization of the critically ill medical patient
• Case-based simulation training

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the current agreement for full-time employees between the Danish Regions and Young Doctors. The department operates with a two-shift duty roster.
