Introduction to Psychiatry – an incredibly exciting and challenging specialty

Now is the time to act! The regions have opened up the possibility to increase the number of introductory positions in psychiatry, and we therefore have 2 extra positions to fill by agreement.

At the Psychiatric Center Ballerup, Herlev and Gentofte Hospital we put the psychiatric interview at the forefront, and we have therefore a special focus on upskilling the psychiatric education of younger doctors, both in the psychiatric interview and in the holistic patient conversation.

We offer a position where you get

• 5 days of joint introduction and training and then follow-up shifts in, e.g., on‑call and ECT duties
• opportunity for weekly bedside supervision and plenty of shared teaching
• three‑shift roster with a specialist physician in front, so you never stand alone with the decisions
• opportunity to participate in a basic course in psychotherapy and in an e‑course in psychiatry
• opportunity to participate in FYP and DPS annual meeting
• university environment with both pre‑ and postgraduates education
• opportunity for focus days during your I‑programme so you can get a sense of different aspects of psychiatry
• opportunity to start a therapeutic course with parallel supervision during the I‑position

You will become part of the group of doctors at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup.

We have

• emergency department as well as 24/7 and outpatient treatment
• a number of psychiatric outpatient clinics, FACT and OPUS teams
• special functions in eating disorders, traumatized refugees, rehabilitation and deaf psychiatry
• research and teaching – among other things we are an active university hospital

Some of the most important strategic areas of focus for the center going forward are a good working environment, rational pharmacotherapy and reduction of coercion.

Salary and employment terms

The introductory position is 1 year in duration and is to be filled by agreement.

To be considered for the position you must have completed KBU and have the right to independent practice.

You are employed under the collective agreement for junior doctors, including the provisions of the agreement on working hours.
