Job mentor with focus on companies, communities and job opportunities for young people

In Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality, we have gathered our youth initiatives in the new Team Youth on the Road. Now we are seeking a job mentor who can translate ideas into action and help young citizens in distress; youths who are outside the education and job market and have difficulty finding their way into communities and working life.

Furthermore, you will contribute to the team’s development projects, e.g. Ungeløftet, which helps us together to create a stronger foundation for young citizens’ path to work and education.

Your tasks include

Supporting youths on the path to work and education

You shall establish a strong and professional relationship with young citizens who may be in complex life situations and may need individually tailored support to find their way toward work, education, or other meaningful communities.

This includes, among other things, motivating and supporting the citizen’s development and progression, having an eye for the young person’s resources, wishes and potentials, and assisting the youth in the transition to internship, job or education.

Being strong in collaboration

You shall create and maintain relationships with, among others, colleagues within the municipality and external partners, e.g. companies and civil society.

This includes, among other things, establishing company contact and identifying opportunities for ordinary employment, following up and supporting both citizen and company in the startup phase. At the same time, it involves collaboration with caseworkers and other professionals about the young person’s goals and the path there.

Contribute to projects in the team

You are expected to contribute to the work with new initiatives, e.g. around Ungeløftet. This may include participation in company-oriented activities and/or testing new initiatives in collaboration with colleagues, citizens and other partners.

We are looking for you who

• have a social, pedagogical or other relevant educational background
• have experience with youths and employment-oriented interventions
• have strong relationship-building skills and can build trust with both citizens and companies
• have understanding of business, are proactive, and can see opportunities in the labor market
• can document your work and results
• work creatively, solution-oriented and independently, and at the same time can actively participate in a multidisciplinary team
• have a focus on progression and believe that all citizens have resources and development opportunities
• Possibly have experience with IPS to some extent

About Team Youth on the Road

Team Youth on the Road is a newly established team with about 26 employees. The team brings together the municipality’s youth initiatives across authorities, job-oriented efforts and services and includes, among others, caseworkers, job consultants, job mentors, project staff, etc.

Salary and employment

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

The salary ranges from 33,000 - 40,000 DKK per month excluding pension and is determined according to the principles of new salary based on qualifications and experience. The salary consists of base pay plus any allowances, and the final salary is set after negotiation.

Working hours: Full-time 37 hours

Permanent position with expected start 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
