About the job

Are you a lawyer with extensive experience in real estate? Do you want to work with one of Denmark's largest real estate portfolios? And can you see yourself in an exciting legal environment with good development opportunities? Then we hope you will be our new colleague

About the position

We are looking for an experienced lawyer for our property law department in the Finance Administration at the City of Copenhagen.

You will be responsible for your own cases, and you will work with exciting legal tasks within real estate such as:

  • draft and negotiate legal agreements related to real estate, e.g. commercial lease contracts, purchase agreements and sale agreements
  • provide legal advice to the organization
  • prepare notes, recommendations and decision proposals to be used in the political decision-making process in the Finance Committee and the Citizens’ Representation

We offer great variation in the tasks, and there is plenty of opportunity for both professional and personal challenges and development.

You will be employed in a young legal office with about 25 staff – mainly lawyers and several with a background as a lawyer but also two commercial brokers and a student assistant. The office has a high professional level, and we place great emphasis on a good team spirit with strong sparring opportunities. It is important to us that work is both fun, exciting and challenging to go to.

About you

You hold a cand.jur., cand.merc.(jur.) or cand.soc. in law with extensive experience in real estate.

We also value that you

  • possess commercial and business understanding
  • have good negotiation and collaboration skills – also across professional environments
  • can express yourself clearly and precisely in writing and speech
  • are keen to participate in a sparring environment with the rest of the office
  • contribute to a good working environment.

About us

Our office has the character of an internal specialized legal unit, and our primary area of work is private-law and commercial issues relating to Copenhagen Municipality's real estate ownership in a broad sense. This includes, among other things, cases of purchase and sale of real estate, development of land and entering into commercial lease contracts when the municipality leases spaces for municipal purposes.

We support the entire municipality and have extensive interaction with the municipality's other administrations, the politicians at Copenhagen City Hall and with other partners including other landowners, consultants and other stakeholders.

We generally handle our own cases in the courts, where the office's lawyers appear as advocates.

Salary and employment terms

We offer salary and employment terms, which are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the possibility of negotiation in relation to relevant qualifications and seniority.

The working time is 37 hours per week and includes a half-hour paid lunch break.

There is the possibility of a weekly home-working day, and there is flexitime.

Start as soon as possible after further agreement.

Additional information

If you have questions regarding the position, you are welcome to contact team leader Monica Holst Nielsen at 2363 7288 (or email [email protected]) or team leader Rene Lind Akselsen at 2924 0855 (or email [email protected]).

Apply via the link no later than Thursday November 12, 2026

We expect to hold first interviews in week 47 and second interviews in week 48, but we also reserve the right to call for interviews on an ongoing basis.

About the Finance Administration

The Finance Administration is one of Copenhagen Municipality's seven administrations. In total about 3,600 people work in the Finance Administration, of which about 300 of us have offices at the City Hall. The physical framework for your work will thus be Copenhagen's historic and beautiful City Hall. Here we serve the Lord Mayor, the Citizens’ Representation and the Finance Committee, and we are close to the political life in the municipality.

Together we focus on creating value for Copenhageners and for Copenhagen. You will at City Hall become part of an exciting work environment where motivation, well-being and good cooperation are in the foreground and with good opportunities for skills development.
