About the job

Join our new colleague in the Office for Labour Market and Equality Affairs at the Ministry of Employment and Equality! Develop yourself legally and personally in a ministry with a societally important task.

Work with law where policy becomes reality

In the Ministry of Employment and Equality's department, we work closely with the minister and the rest of the leadership to translate political visions into solutions that matter for citizens and the labor market in Denmark.

The Office for Labour Law and Jurisprudence (KAJ) is the department's central legal office and consists of two units, Labour Law and Jurisprudence.

The Labour Law unit works on the development and regulation of labour and employment law in Denmark, including, among other things, legislative processes, implementation of EU law and the Danish labour market model.

The Jurisprudence unit acts as the department's in-house lawyers and advises the entire organization on public law issues, including administrative law, constitutional law and data protection law, criminal law as well as the interpretation of Denmark's international obligations, including under the European Convention on Human Rights, and the ministry's own legislation.

As a student you will be an integrated part of the office and get a unique insight into work in the central administration. With us you will have professional responsibility, close sparring with experienced lawyers and the opportunity to work with legal issues of great societal significance.

About the position

You will primarily be attached to the Jurisprudence unit, but you may receive tasks across the units. You will have responsibility for your own tasks, of course with ongoing sparring from your colleagues. The tasks vary and require you to be independent and quickly get up to speed on new issues.

In the Jurisprudence unit we work with classical public law disciplines and function as a sparring partner for the entire department. You will come to work with administrative law, constitutional law, data protection law, and get to know the ministry's own legislation.

Your tasks will vary and include, among other things, assisting with

  • concrete legal case handling, including preparation of decisions in your own access-to-files and appeal cases,
  • advice to other offices in the building,
  • preparation of legal notes, and
  • assistance with holding courses and presentations.

You will gain experience with concrete case handling and learn how legal assessments are incorporated into a politically steered organization.

A academically strong and social office

KAJ consists of 1 head of office, 2 deputy heads, 12 lawyers and 3 students, including you. We are a very social office, which, in addition to focusing on delivering high-quality work, also likes to spend energy on organizing events together and ensuring a good working environment on a daily basis.

You will have kind and skilled colleagues who have anywhere from 1 year to 25 years of experience in the office. There are therefore young energies to reflect on and more experienced minds to learn from. You will have colleagues who are always ready to provide professional sparring, both on difficult legal issues and the big political lines.

Are you our new colleague?

We imagine that you

  • are a law student
  • have a high professional level and can deliver high-quality outputs
  • are curious, independent and responsible
  • are proactive, helpful and good at collaborating
  • wish to learn
  • communicate clearly orally and in writing.

It is an advantage for the position if you have taken courses such as constitutional law and administrative law.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a student position averaging 15 hours per week. We would like you to start on 15 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We take into account that you must fit your studies, and in exam periods, when studying requires more time, there is flexibility.

You will be employed as a student under the OAO-S collective agreement, the organization agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff in state service. It is a condition of employment that you are enrolled at a higher education institution and are an active student.

Your daily workplace is the Ministry of Employment and Equality, Holmens Kanal 20, 1060 Copenhagen K.

You can also contact the attorney in the Jurisprudence unit, Johanne Skov Ingfred Petersen, at tel. 24437188 if you want to hear more about what it is like to work in the office.

We see diversity as a strength and encourage all interested applicants regardless of personal background to apply for the position.

Send your motivated CV and your exam papers electronically no later than Sunday, 15 November 2026 . You do not need to send a classic motivated application – simply add a couple of lines in your CV about what motivates you to apply for the position, and why you fit the role.
