About the job

Are you passionate about personnel law in a broad sense? Do you want to use your competencies at both strategic and operational levels to ensure correct and consistent interpretation and implementation of personnel-law matters at Denmark's largest university? Then the opportunity is now.

About the position

You will, together with your colleagues, be a central actor in the development and maintenance of KU’s personnel and pay policy guidelines.

The section supports KU's top management and HR functions through legal assessments, interpretative contributions, notes, guidelines and principle clarifications in the personnel area. A substantial part of the work consists of preparing legal notes, interpretative contributions, guidelines and written proposals for decision-makers.

We are today four employees (primarily lawyers) and a section head in KU HR, who handle a broad portfolio of HR-law tasks – both strategic and operation-related. We work closely together and have a strong professional community, where we prioritize sparring and knowledge sharing highly.

Your professional background

You have a legal background” (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or equivalent), and experience in employment law in the state. You are motivated by working at the intersection of law and HR and are able to translate complicated legal issues into usable guidelines, notes and decision proposals.

You must have the ability to put yourself in the users' place and find energy in working in a solution-focused way. You should also have an interest in working with the special tasks that characterize a university, for example the employment of scientific staff.

It would be a plus if you have experience with tax law aspects of personnel administration.

Your personal profile

You are characterized by the following

  • have strong analytical skills and can work structurally with complex legal issues
  • can work both independently and in collaboration with others across disciplines and organizational boundaries
  • have an overview and work in a structured and systematic way
  • are willing to, and able to understand new material and thereby expand the areas you can handle
  • are motivated to work in a large and sometimes heavy, politically driven organization and can communicate with both managers and employees at all levels.

Why you should apply for one of the HR Legal positions

  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development in a large, professionally strong and development-oriented HR environment
  • Close collaboration with dedicated and competent colleagues, and opportunity to contribute to important decisions at the university
  • Flexible working time frames and good possibilities for remote work up to a couple of days a week, so you can create a good work-life balance.

About us

KU HR Legal's main task is to support a coherent personnel-legal case handling at KU. We have the overall responsibility to set and convey a consistent and coherent interpretation and practice in a range of employment-related areas across the university. We handle that with a close and well-functioning cooperation with the HR-area's other units. Together, the HR organization supports 5-600 leaders and more than 10,000 employees.

Our everyday life is characterized by a varied mix of corporate professional personnel-legal advice and case processing both in concrete cases and in the form of proposals to KU’s top management. Every day is different with a good balance between tasks that must be solved quickly and tasks that allow us to delve and learn new things.

We are housed in some beautiful old buildings in the city centre.
