About the job

Are you a lawyer with extensive experience in real estate? Do you want to work with one of Denmark's largest real estate portfolios? And can you see yourself in an exciting legal environment with good development opportunities? Then we hope you will be our new colleague

About the position

We are looking for an experienced lawyer for our property law department in the Finance Administration of the City of Copenhagen.

You will be responsible for your own cases, and you will work on exciting legal tasks within real estate such as:

  • draft and negotiate legal agreements related to real estate, e.g., commercial lease agreements, purchase agreements and sale agreements
  • provide legal advice to the organization
  • prepare memoranda, recommendations and decision proposals for use in the political decision-making process in the Finance Committee and the City Council

We offer great variation in the tasks, and there is ample opportunity for both professional and personal challenges and development.

You will be employed in a young legal office with about 25 employees – primarily lawyers and several with background as attorneys but also two commercial brokers and a student assistant. The office has a high professional level, and we attach great importance to good camaraderie with strong sparring opportunities. It is important to us that it is both fun, exciting and challenging to go to work.

About you

You have a cand.jur., cand.merc.(jur.) or cand.soc. in law with extensive experience in real estate.

We also value that you

  • possess commercial and business understanding
  • have good negotiation and collaboration skills – also across professional environments
  • can express yourself clearly and concisely in writing and speaking
  • are keen to participate in a sparring environment with the rest of the office
  • contribute to a good working environment.

About us

Our office has the character of an internal specialized legal unit, and our primary area of work is private-law and commercial issues concerning Copenhagen Municipality's property ownership in a broad sense. This includes among other things cases of buying and selling real estate, development of land and entering into commercial lease contracts when the municipality rents premises for municipal purposes.

We support the entire municipality and have wide contact with the municipality's other administrations, the politicians at City Hall and with other partners including other landowners, advisers and other stakeholders.

We as a rule handle our own cases at the courts, where the office's lawyers appear as litigation representatives.

Salary and terms of employment

We offer salary and terms of employment, which are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, with the possibility of negotiating based on relevant qualifications and seniority.

The working hours are 37 hours per week and include a half-hour paid lunch break.

There is the possibility of one day of remote work per week, and there is flex time.

Commencement as soon as possible after further agreement.

Application deadline: Apply via the link no later than Thursday 12 November 2026

We expect to hold 1st interviews in week 47 and 2nd interviews in week 48, but we also reserve the right to invite to interviews on an ongoing basis.

About the Finance Administration

The physical framework for your work will thus be Copenhagen's historic and beautiful City Hall. Here we serve the Lord Mayor, the City Council and the Finance Committee, and we are close to the political life of the municipality. Together we focus on creating value for Copenhagen residents and Copenhagen.

You will at the City Hall become part of an exciting working environment where motivation, well-being and good cooperation are top priorities with good opportunities for skill development.
