Kitchen assistant for Hesselgården - 15 and 20 hours

We are looking for a kitchen mother or kitchen father with heart for children and joy of food

Are you passionate about cooking, and would you like to make meals an important part of children's learning, development and community? Then perhaps it is you we are looking for.

We are seeking two dedicated staff for our kitchens

• 20 hours per week in the kindergarten
• 15 hours per week in the nursery

The positions can be applied for by both kitchen-qualified trained staff, pedagogical assistants as well as by you who have a strong interest in cooking and culinary education.

As a kitchen employee you will be an important part of daily life in our institution. The food is delivered partly pre-cooked and must be finished in our plating kitchens, so children are met with inviting and tasty meals every day.

The position is tied to the institution's food scheme, which is evaluated and re-evaluated by the board every other year. Therefore the appointment initially until December 2028 with the possibility of extension, if the food scheme continues.

In both positions you will also have responsibility for menu planning, ordering and procurement.

The kitchen as an educational workshop

With us the kitchen is more than a place where food is prepared. We see it as an educational workshop where children can be curious, investigative and active participants. We want a staff member who is willing to involve the children in the kitchen's activities, create good experiences around meals and awaken their curiosity about food through senses, taste and practical experiences.

You should, among other things, be eager to

• involve the children in cooking and kitchen activities, possibly together with the pedagogical staff.
• create positive and cozy meal experiences.
• work with children's knowledge of ingredients, taste and senses.
• strengthen children's understanding of health, community and sustainability.
• give the children ownership and influence around the meals.
