Marienlyst Daycare Center seeks a house assistant with a heart for food and children

Do you want to help give children a good and inviting experience around meals? Do you love to cook, and would you like to use your skills to inspire children to be food-brave and curious?

-Then you might be our new house assistant.

Marienlyst Daycare Center is seeking a house assistant for 25 – 30 hours per week with start on January 4, 2027. The hours will mainly be between 8:00 and 14:30

The position is part of a parent-organized meal scheme, which includes meals for the children three times a day.

About the job

With us you will have an important role in daily life, where you in close collaboration with the kitchen supervisor prepare and cook the day's meals for about 110 children aged 0-6 years. We serve three meals a day, and we place emphasis on the food being healthy, tasty and inviting.

In the first week you will eat with the children in the rooms, so you get a good understanding of the children, the meal culture and the daily rhythm. We believe that this creates the best conditions for good collaboration – and for the children to have good dining experiences.

Your tasks will include

• To assist with the preparation and plating of meals in collaboration with the kitchen supervisor
• To assist with planning and organization in the kitchen
• To put away goods
• Cleaning and dishwashing
• To make coffee and tea – and take care of laundry
• To participate in ordering goods and perform self-inspection in the absence of the kitchen supervisor. We will of course introduce you so you are prepared for the task
• Sparring with the kitchen supervisor

We expect that you

• Are passionate about cooking and creating meal joy for the children
• Want to be creative – and bring pedagogy into the kitchen
• Have a good overview and can work systematically and independently
• Have good physical health and enjoy being on your feet most of the day
• Are friendly, welcoming and good at collaborating
• Have a hygiene certificate or be willing to obtain it
• Have basic IT skills
• Speak, write and read Danish
