Join the team: Islev School and SFO are seeking a new SFO leader

Are you a clear, warm, and presenceful leader who can create direction and good relationships?

• then you might be the person we are looking for.

Our current SFO leader has wished for another role with more time with the children and the young people. At the same time, the number of children in the SFO and the club at Islev School is growing – our offering is popular among the children at the school and the young people in the area.

We are therefore looking for an engaged SFO leader, who will take responsibility for the overall SFO and club offering at Islev School and become the nearest leader for three department heads.

You will become part of the school's management team, which consists of the principal, the primary school leader, the middle/high school leader/vice principal, an administrative leader, and the SFO leader.

Leisure part at Islev School

Islev School has about 650 pupils and around 100 staff members.

The leisure part has 25 permanent pedagogues/assistants and three department heads distributed across four departments (junior and youth club share the same leader):

• SFO I – Snurretoppen with 135 children from 0th-1st grade
• SFO I – Miniklubben with 150 children from 2nd-3rd grade
• SFO II – Juniorklubben with 165 children from 4th-6th grade
• Youth club from 7th grade up to and including 17 years

An active everyday life

In the day-to-day of the SFOs, it is creativity, play and movement that shape the activities.

Pedagogues in Snurretoppen and Miniklubben also have a number of school hours in 0.-3. grade, and each pedagogue is attached to a specific class. It is therefore important that the upcoming SFO leader has views on and experience with that part of the pedagogues' work that takes place during teaching time. You must be able to support a respectful and equal collaboration between teachers and pedagogues and, together with the primary school leader, help develop and qualify this work.

We believe in leadership close to practice

For us, good leadership is about creating direction and making people succeed.

As an SFO leader, you have 100% leadership time and thus time for both administrative tasks and being accessible and present in everyday life . The department heads have 25% leadership time each and participate in the remaining time in the pedagogical work in the departments.

You must be able to switch between the strategic, the administrative, and the relational – and have an eye for both daily operations and pedagogical development.

We know that no one can know everything – but we are looking for you who

• is a trained pedagogue and has experience from a similar position
• has experience with pedagogues' work during teaching time and the collaboration between teachers and pedagogues
• has administrative overview, experience with timetable planning and budgets, and familiarity with e.g. KMD, OPUS, AULA and Docendo
• can lead the cross-department collaboration
• can create clarity and direction while also making room for employees' professional expertise and initiative
• takes the difficult conversations when necessary
• sees feedback and dialogue as a natural part of a professional community
• is close to children, young people and staff and curious about what happens in practice
• is present and relationship-strengthening and meets children, young people, parents and staff with respect and kindness
• is goal-oriented, responsible, structured and action-oriented
• keeps an overview and good mood when things move fast
