Do you have a passion for healthy, sustainable and nourishing food for children in early childhood education? Do you want to help create a safe, atmospheric and inspiring food culture for children 37 hours a week?

Grønnebakken is a day-care center with 30 infants, 66 preschool children and 20 skilled pedagogical staff.

Our kitchen manager, after 9 years, has chosen to seek new challenges and we are therefore looking for our new colleague for the loveliest children’s house with its open kitchen.

Grønnebakken is located in Hellerup.

Your main tasks as kitchen manager will be to

-Prepare/ready for breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack for all our children, as well as washing up. We have dishwashing help in the afternoon.

-Develop exciting menu plans, which are uploaded to Aula for our parent group and staff, every week.

-Order goods from our supplier, primarily Hørkram, and manage the food budget.

-Carry out self-inspection and ensure hygiene standards.

-Collaborate with the pedagogical staff to make the meal a moodful and educational learning space for the children.

In Gentofte Municipality’s day-care, we have a well-functioning network of kitchen staff who meet and share knowledge and experiences. You, as a future employee, will join this network and can enjoy the kitchen colleagues’ fellowship and experiences with day-care meals.

Additionally, in early 2027 we will start an online-based program together with Meyers Madhus, where you, together with our manager, can explore even more possibilities to get tastier greens on the plates of Gentofte’s youngest citizens.

We are looking for someone who, like us, enjoys the scent of freshly baked bread for the morning snack, comes up with new spreads for the butter-yourself days, and lets the simmering dish simmer happily while the crunchy vegetables are sliced.
