Do you want to collaborate with companies and local actors on business development in Tasiilaq, the settlements around the town and Ittoqqortoormiit? Then it might be you we are looking for.

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking an independent and engaged business consultant with an interest in local business development and project work. The position is to be filled as soon as possible or by arrangement.

You will have your workplace in Tasiilaq and be responsible for Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq's business efforts in the town, the settlements around Tasiilaq and Ittoqqortoormiit. You must be close to local companies, entrepreneurs and other actors and help translate opportunities into concrete initiatives.

At the same time you will become part of a professional community where we work across the municipality. You will therefore also collaborate with colleagues and actors in Region Paamiut and Region Nuuk on the development of tourism and business across the regions.

An evolving department

You will become part of Tourism & Business, where development and new initiatives are continuously taking place. We work closely with both local businesses, organizations, tourism actors, other administrations and other partners.

You will therefore have the opportunity to help shape development, translate ideas and political decisions into concrete initiatives and create results that can be felt locally.

The position is organizationally anchored in the Tourism & Business department, which is part of Economic Affairs, Facilities & Procurement in the Internal Service administration, and reports to the head of Tourism & Business.

Job content

We are seeking a business consultant who among other things shall

·Contribute to the development of business life in Tasiilaq, the settlements around Tasiilaq and Ittoqqortoormiit based on local strengths, needs and opportunities

·Handle the secretariat function for the East Business Forum, including coordination of meetings, workshops and follow-up as well as support the forum's collaboration, activities and joint initiatives

·Translate political decisions and the municipality's business policy into concrete actions in collaboration with local actors and relevant administrations

·Support dialogue with companies, entrepreneurs and business councils, including preparing meetings, collecting input and following up on agreed initiatives

·Contribute to projects that strengthen the framework for local companies and entrepreneurs, including identifying needs for collaboration, competences and infrastructure

·Coordinate business-related actions across Tasiilaq, the surrounding settlements and Ittoqqortoormiit and ensure ongoing contact with the actors in the areas

·Collaborate with colleagues in the municipality's other regions and with external partners on development projects and joint efforts

·Prepare briefs, notes and status updates on the business area and contribute to planning and execution of local meetings and activities

·Undertake other tasks within business development as agreed with the department head

Tasks are carried out in close cooperation with local actors, the municipality's other administrations, colleagues in Tourism & Business and the department head

Your profile

We are looking for a business consultant who thrives in independent work, is proactive and can create momentum through collaboration with others.

·Ability to communicate clearly and at eye level with companies, citizens, partners and colleagues

·Willingness to engage with actors and build trusting relationships in both towns and settlements

·Ability to work structurally with data, economy and follow-up of projects

·Analytical, structured and good at creating an overview of different local needs

·Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks and travel in a daily life with geographical distance

·Strong collaboration skills and ability to unite different actors around common solutions

·Takes initiative and follows up so that ideas and agreements are turned into action

·Interest in the conditions of the business sector in East Greenland and desire to work across the municipality's regions

·If you can Greenlandic and Danish, that is an advantage but not a requirement

Professional background

You do not need a higher education to apply for the position. We primarily value your ability to build good relationships, understand local needs and bring ideas to life. Experience with companies, project work or local development is a plus, but can be achieved in many different ways.

Criminal record

This position is covered by the Act on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. In accordance with the act, employment may only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We therefore note that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization as of the start date.

Employment will be with a 3-month probation period

Housing

There may be allocated staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the rules for housing payments in Greenlandic Government and municipal properties. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon start, temporary staff housing will be offered for employees with a right to vacant housing, with rent and utilities paid as above. The start date depends on when a staff housing is available. Travel on appointment and household effects relocation are provided in accordance with applicable rules.
