About the job

Overview

Do you want an office education where you are allowed to try different tasks, develop yourself both professionally and personally, and at the same time be part of a workplace that makes a difference for others? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for as our new office trainee in Operations and Support Element at the Veterans Centre of the Danish Defence in Ringsted.

About

The Veterans Centre works to ensure the best possible conditions for Danish veterans and their relatives through, among other things, guidance, support and treatment.

In the Operations and Support Element we do not necessarily work directly with the veterans. Instead, we ensure that our colleagues have the administrative and practical framework they need so they can concentrate on their important work.

This means that even small tasks matter, and that you as an office trainee will also become part of the joint effort.

When you complete your traineeship with us, we hope that you not only have received a good education but also have developed as a person. And not least, that you have experienced being part of a workplace where you are taken seriously, allowed to contribute and have colleagues who want to help each other succeed.

About the position

The Operations and Support Element is, in many ways, the place where a large part of the Veterans Centre's practical and administrative daily life hangs together.

As an office trainee you will be introduced to different parts of our task solution. You will among other things work with:

  • Administrative tasks, case processing and handling of inquiries
  • Procurement, invoices and basic financial administration
  • Personnel administration and various administrative systems
  • Reception, service and contact with colleagues and partners
  • Planning, coordination and practical support for meetings and activities

The tasks are tailored to your development and the requirements of the education. Along the way you will gain insight into how a public organization works and how different professional fields collaborate on a common task.

You should learn, not know it all from the start

We know that it takes time to settle in at a new workplace. Therefore we take care to give you a good start and colleagues around you who help you learn the tasks and understand our organization.

As you become familiar with the tasks, you will get more responsibility and the opportunity to find solutions yourself. There must be room to ask questions, try things out and learn along the way.

Our ambition is that during your traineeship you gain a solid professional education, greater self-confidence and the opportunity to discover what you are particularly good at and what you would like to develop further within.

About you

You have either: EUX, STX HHX, HF or HTX supplemented with 5 weeks EUS course for office education with specializations.

In addition we expect that you

  • Are curious and want to learn new things
  • Meet others with kindness and respect
  • Have the courage to take responsibility, even when you need help
  • Like to create overview and keep track of details
  • Want to be part of a community where we help each other
  • Are willing to ask questions and come with your own ideas

You do not need to have experience with office work or knowledge of the Defence. The most important is your motivation and desire to learn.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Civil Service Area (OAO-S collective agreement) and the collective agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff.

For you who are under 25 your starting salary will be calculated based on possible previous education and experience, but will minimum be 16,763.75 DKK per month. If you are 25 or older your salary is 23,640.43 DKK per month. There is an employer-financed pension scheme linked to the position.

The workplace is in Ringsted.

As an employee in the Defence you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain a security clearance and maintain the clearance throughout the employment process.

You as an employee have a duty to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-making, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you have questions about the education, you are welcome to contact unit leader Martin Crillesen on phone 72163291.

If you have questions about employment or terms, you can contact HR consultant Silke Cicilia Rasmussen from the Personnel Command on phone 2043 1029.

The application deadline is 23 November 2026 and interviews will be held in week 49.

We wish to welcome you on 1 February 2027.

Please apply for the position via the link “Apply for the vacant position” and attach your application, CV, exam certificate (printout of examination sheet), basic training certificate as well as other relevant documentation. If it is not possible to scan and attach the documents in PDF format, you can bring them to the interview.

If you are 25, remember to attach a competence-based supplement. If you do not have a competence-based assessment, you can have it prepared at a school offering the education. If you do not manage to get a competence-based assessment prepared, you can bring it to a possible interview, alternatively the school can prepare one for a possible employment.

The Defence Ministry's organization values diversity and sees it as a strength for solving tasks. We therefore encourage all qualified applicants – regardless of background – to apply for the position.

Veterans Centre

The Veterans Centre is anchored in the Personnel Command and is responsible for a systematic effort aimed at all veterans and relatives before, during and after deployment. In addition to preventive efforts, all veterans and relatives have access to multidisciplinary support from social workers, employment counselors, outreach counselors, family counselors and psychologists, if needed related to deployment. We collaborate with authorities, companies and voluntary associations that are in contact with our veterans.

Tasks include, among other things, research and dissemination of knowledge about veterans and their conditions, social area, rehabilitation area, military psychology, clinical treatment and coordination of veteran area initiatives.
