Only once every thousand years – will you lead as Program Manager for Ringsted's 1000-year city jubilee in 2028

In 2028 Ringsted will celebrate 1000 years of town history. It must be felt throughout the municipality – and ideally far beyond.

We are seeking a strong program manager who can translate big ambitions into reality and mobilize the many people, associations and partners who must be involved.

Work is already underway. There are political ambitions, finances and projects and partnerships to build on – but also significant room for you to put your stamp on the jubilee.

You will unite, create and deliver

Ringsted has been a meeting place for kings, church, trade and people for 1000 years. The jubilee should bring history into play and at the same time create new stories, experiences and communities.

Ringsted 1000 years must not be just a series of municipal events. It must be created together with residents, associations, cultural life, schools, business, church, museums and local and national partners.

The program must include both large signature events, notable cultural experiences and activities that grow locally. At the same time, we must think about what the jubilee can leave behind in the form of strong collaborations, communities and initiatives after 2028.

As program manager you will, among other things

• develop and compile the overall jubilee program
• drive signature events and larger projects from idea to reality
• create partnerships and mobilize local and national actors
• ensure progress, finances and coherence across the projects
• work concretely with project development, fundraising, program planning and communication
• navigate safely between political ambitions, municipal organization and external partners.

You will have a small team around you, but the role is hands-on. You must both set direction and develop projects yourself, open doors, follow agreements to the letter and make things happen.

Who are you?

Your educational background is less important than what you have created.

You have solid experience in leading larger projects, programs, events, cultural projects or other complex initiatives with many stakeholders – and can show that you have carried big ideas from ambition to reality.

You thrive between strategy and practice, create excitement and following, and can get people you do not directly lead to take ownership. At the same time you have control of finances, deadlines and execution.

And you have an eye for what projects and partnerships can trigger – and how the strongest can live on after the jubilee year ends.

Experience from culture, events, destination development, history communication, fundraising or larger public events is an advantage.

The position is a fixed-term full-time role for 28 months in Ringsted Municipality.
