About the job

Do you have a laboratory technician education and want to use your professional expertise in exciting research and innovation projects?

At Erhvervsakademi Aarhus we are seeking a laboratory technician for a fixed-term position of one year from 1 February 2027. You will become part of our research and innovation environment (F&I), where you will contribute to practical laboratory work and development of new methods and solutions.

We are especially looking for a profile with an interest in biotechnology and/or microbiology, who thrives with practical laboratory work, structure and collaboration.

About us

Erhvervsakademi Aarhus (EAAA) is Aarhus' third largest educational institution with over 30 full-time programs within, among others, laboratory, foods and environment.

Our programs and F&I activities are gathered in a modern, science-focused campus in Viby J. Here we work in well-equipped laboratories with modern analytical equipment, which form the framework for practice-oriented research and development in close collaboration with both internal and external partners.

About the job

You will be attached to our F&I team, where you will contribute to the practical execution of projects primarily within biotechnology and microbiology.

You will work closely with researchers and other colleagues on planning, performing and documenting laboratory experiments. The tasks will vary depending on the current projects, and you will have the opportunity to work with different methods and techniques.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • planning, preparing and conducting laboratory experiments in connection with research and innovation projects
  • working with techniques such as e.g. microbiological methods, cell biology and microscopy
  • contributing to the development, testing and optimization of laboratory methods
  • collecting, processing and documenting experiment results
  • producing reagents and preparing samples, materials and equipment for experiments
  • contributing to good laboratory practice, quality and safety
  • maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment

You will have a daily routine with both independent tasks and close collaboration with colleagues. Since this is research and innovation, tasks may change along the way, and there will be opportunities to try out new methods and techniques.

Your competencies

You do not need to know everything from the start. The most important is that you have a laboratory technician background and an interest in biotechnology or microbiology. We therefore also encourage recent graduates to apply.

We imagine that you

  • are a trained laboratory technician
  • have experience with or interest in biotechnology and microbiology laboratory work
  • work in a structured and independent way with a focus on quality
  • thrive with collaboration and are eager to learn new methods and techniques

Experience with e.g. microbiological methods, aseptic work or research and development projects is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We offer

We offer an exciting and varied job where you will have the opportunity to use your laboratory technician expertise in research and innovation projects. You will become part of a strong professional community with engaged colleagues and have a daily routine with practical laboratory work, professional challenges and opportunities to learn new methods and techniques.

You will receive a thorough introduction to the projects and laboratory tasks and be assigned to an experienced colleague who will help you get started. Although the position is fixed-term, we place emphasis on you becoming part of the professional community and having the opportunity to actively contribute to the projects from the start.

Employment

This is a fixed-term full-time position for one year with start date 1 February 2027 and employment until 31 January 2028.

Employment is as a laboratory technician under the current agreement with the Ministry of Finance and HK. Additional compensation is provided according to qualifications.
