About the job
Are you a laboratory technician with solid knowledge of analytical equipment and methods? Do you have plenty of drive, an interest in people and a desire to learn from others? Then you might be our new laboratory technician.
At the laboratory technician education at the University College of Copenhagen (KP) we are seeking a professionally strong and engaged new colleague who is passionate about working with students and giving them the best start on their path to their new profession. If you thrive on working with young people and would like to help ensure they have the best possible conditions for their learning, then you are the one we are looking for.
About the job
Our laboratory teaching is a substantial part of the education, and it is therefore important to us that the laboratories function optimally. As a laboratory technician you will join a training team where you, in collaboration with colleagues with technical and academic backgrounds, solve teaching-related tasks primarily for the laboratory technician education, but also in collaboration with other educations at the Institute for Technological Education (ITE).
Our laboratory technicians collectively have the responsibility to ensure coherence and quality in the practical conduct of laboratory teaching, and you will in close dialogue with the teachers independently handle various courses that form part of the teaching. You must in the laboratory have an overview of all exercises to be carried out simultaneously, and be able to navigate a fast-paced daily life where the laboratory never stands still.
We place great emphasis on respectful communication, where both staff and students are met with kindness, curiosity and professionalism — both in everyday life and in collaboration across the organization.
Your main tasks will be to
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment
- Instruct and maintain equipment as well as other laboratory operations
- Prepare reagents, solutions and standards for laboratory teaching based on your own calculations
- Participate in the ongoing planning and development of laboratory teaching together with the teachers and laboratory technicians
- Participate in guidance and teaching of our students as part of the laboratory teaching in close collaboration with the teachers
- Contribute to students' learning about occupational health and safety and quality assurance
- Join in broad collegial collaboration on the education and at the institute
About you
We imagine that you
- Are educated as a laboratory technician
- Have solid practical knowledge and experience within the chemical engineering and biotechnological area
- Have a pronounced planning gene and can independently plan and prioritize your tasks

- Have broad knowledge of the field of employers for laboratory technicians
About your personality we envision that you
- Want to make a difference and can see yourself as a role model for our laboratory technician students
- Are proactive, curious, open and prepared for close collaboration with colleagues on the education and the institute
- Thrive in a fast-paced daily life with many balls in the air
- Are flexible and have a good mood
