About the job

Are you looking for a job with many varied tasks? - then we have the right position for you

Start date January 1, 2027 or by agreement. The position is 37 hours and the working hours are from 07:30 to 15:00. There are no fixed shifts in the position, but on a single day during Easter, May 1 (when it falls on a weekday) and a day in connection with Christmas we have a secretary working from 08:00 to 14:00. Shifts rotate.

All secretaries have a fixed workplace in the Diabetes House, but we have a secretary placed in the Subacute Day Hospital (Intensive Care Building), where we have close collaboration with secretaries from the Cardiology Department. We are 14 secretaries, 1 executive secretary and 1 student in the secretariat.

You will be an important part of the Subacute Day Hospital function together with 2 colleagues, where you will regularly sit at the Subacute Day Hospital every Wednesday and participate in coverage during vacations and absences. You will be responsible for triage and booking of appointments for bone scans in collaboration with the same 2 colleagues. At the same time you will be responsible for a couple of outpatient clinics e.g. within diabetes or other endocrinology.

The tasks are varied and include, among others, writing, registration of patient pathways, telephone contact with patients and partners, booking and sending invitations of patients, quality lists, discharge lists, reception duties, etc. Mail and telephone are a shared task, but you will also have the opportunity to perform different specialist functions based on competencies and wishes.

In April 2025 we implemented speech recognition, so the writing task does not occupy as much as before, as we primarily write letters, correspondence and visitation notes.

We offer

A position in an innovative department driven by high quality and strong interdisciplinary collaboration. You will have engaged and experienced colleagues who are ready for sparring and collegial care in a secretariat with an informal tone and good opportunities for competence development.

We expect that you are

  • a trained medical secretary or health administration coordinator
  • a team player who actively participates in the department's overall functions at a professional and academically high level
  • a good colleague who shares responsibility for ensuring that we all experience job satisfaction and thrive in the department

Experience from the medical specialties is not decisive. The most important is that you are keen to learn new things and actively engage in handling current as well as new types of secretarial tasks with a positive mindset. We need a colleague who contributes with a stable and diligent work effort in a well-functioning secretarial team. In the department we focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, so we expect you to have good collaboration skills and the willingness to make things succeed as well as to contribute with ideas for development and improvements.
