The work at the Emergency and Trauma Center gives you a varied and unpredictable everyday life, where you as secretary play a central role in supporting patient flow and ensuring that the administrative tasks are solved efficiently and with high quality.

As a secretary in the Emergency and Trauma Center you help create overview and coherence in the pathways for our critically ill and injured patients – also when it is busy and many tasks must be handled simultaneously. You work closely with doctors, nurses and other professional groups and contribute to patients being received, registered and coordinated in the best possible way.

What can you expect from us?

  • You will gain broad specialty knowledge that strengthens you in your career – no matter what dreams you have for your future!
  • We have a well-planned onboarding program and mentor scheme – We ensure that you receive a solid introduction with an experienced mentor, so you quickly feel confident in your tasks.
  • We succeed in supporting and making a difference for patients, relatives and partners, and contribute to the positive development of both workflows and the core task – in a daily life where the tempo is high and no two days are the same.
  • You will have many professionally skilled and dedicated health administrative colleagues, each contributing with their own competencies and strengths. We have an informal tone and a good working environment, and it is very important that both the mono- and cross-disciplinary collaboration are built on trusting relationships with room for diversity.
  • We are naturally at work 24/7 year-round, as our competencies are needed. This means you will have rotating shifts; day shifts, evening shifts and night shifts as well as weekend and public holiday shifts. All staff work every 3rd weekend.

Below you can see the expectations we have of you

  • You are educated medical secretary or health administrative coordinator – which is a non-negotiable requirement.

  • You have good coordination skills and work in a structured, systematic and overviewed way in a busy day.
  • You are development-oriented and motivated for ongoing professional and personal development.
  • You actively contribute to a good mono- and cross-disciplinary collaboration and communicate clearly and professionally – both orally and in writing – with focus on the patient and relatives.
  • You are engaged in the development and optimization of patient pathways and contribute to creating coherent and efficient processes.
  • You are flexible, adaptable and meet changes with a positive and constructive approach.

About the Emergency and Trauma Center

The Emergency and Trauma Center, Aalborg University Hospital is Region North Jutland's largest combined emergency department and consists of the Emergency Reception (including the ED), Emergency Ward ASA, Emergency Clinic and the Trauma Center, which around the clock ensures continuity in the acute patient pathways.
