Langeland Municipality seeks a group leader for Home Care Group Midt

We are looking for a leader who wants to be close to both employees, citizens, and daily operations – and who can create the framework that enables employees to succeed in their tasks.

Who are we?

The Home Care Group Central comprises around 40 employees, mainly social and health care helpers and unskilled workers.

We provide care and support to citizens during daytime hours, and the home care opening hours are from 06:30 to 15:30 . This gives a clear framework for both employees' working days and your daily life as a group leader.

We are an educational site and receive both social and health care helper students and social and health care assistant students for internships.

The group consists of three self-planned teams

TEAM-Skind · TEAM-Ring · TEAM-Haven

We work closely across professional groups and have, among other things, a close cooperation with social and health care assistants, planners, nurses, admissions, and everyday rehabilitation therapists.

The Home Care Service has a shared focus on creating a dignified and coherent effort for citizens, where professionalism, continuity, and the citizen's own wishes and resources are central.

Your most important task

As a group leader, you will be part of the management of daily operations in Group Central.

You must create frames and direction , while also giving space to employees' responsibility and professional judgment.

Our employees are self-planned. They therefore influence both their work scheduling and the daily planning of citizen visits and routes.

This requires a leader who can balance freedom and responsibility with clear leadership .

You must be able to support employees in seeing the overall operational task and understand how their own choices affect the citizens, colleagues, and the overall task solving.

This applies to both shift scheduling and the daily planning of citizen visits and routes.

Your role is not to plan everything for the employees, but to create the conditions for them to succeed themselves. You must be able to coach, ask the right questions, and help employees find solutions themselves – while also stepping in clearly when leadership direction and decisions are needed.

You will become part of a leadership team

You report to the head of Home Care and become part of a close leadership team together with your leadership colleagues.

We consult with each other, help each other in everyday life, and work together to develop home care.

We believe that leadership becomes stronger when we use each other’s different competencies and stand together on the common task.

As leadership colleagues we cover for each other during holidays and absences. This enables us to take time off with confidence that tasks are covered, leaving room for both recovery and freedom – also in a leadership role .

We are in the middle of an exciting development

The Home Care on Langeland is in the process of further developing the work with self-planned teams.

We are, among other things, working to create clear frameworks around teams, strengthen the professional language, and ensure that the citizen and their relatives experience a coherent and dignified effort.

As a group leader you will have an important role in this development.

You must both be able to hold on to what works and have the courage to help develop how we solve the core task.

We imagine that you

• Have a relevant health professional education
• Have leadership experience – preferably from the elderly care sector
• Are clear, present, and good at building relationships
• Can create frames and direction without taking responsibility away from the employees
• Have an eye for both professionalism, work environment and operations
• Can use shift planning as a leadership tool and have an understanding of task arrangement
• Can coach and support employees in self-planning
• Can create coherence between employees' wishes, citizens' needs and the overall operations
• Communicate clearly and confidently – both orally and in writing
• Can maintain overview and make decisions, even when everyday life becomes complex
• Want to develop both people and the organization.

In addition, it is an advantage if you

• Have a leadership education, or are keen to pursue one
• Have experience with collective agreements, working hours regulations, finances, resource management, and KMD Nexus.

Salary and employment

The position is a permanent appointment, with start date on December 1.

Your workplace is the Home Care at Spodsbjergvej 129, 5900 Rudkøbing , where you will also have your office and daily entry point. We share the building with among others Home Care Evening/Night, Nursing, and Aids Depot.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation.

The salary is set after individual negotiations based on the relevant manager collective agreement depending on education.

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between DKK 40,000-41,500 per month (excl. pension).

In addition there will be the possibility of negotiating individual allowances based on relevant competencies and experience.

Note: Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check.
