About the job

Would you like to be one of three new leaders in a competent management community in the specialized social field?

We are now looking for three leadership colleagues who will step in and contribute to both the core task and the management community in the Unit for Disability.

We are seeking three leaders at the same time, which says something about our willingness to make the whole function as good as possible. We distribute leadership tasks continuously based on competencies and resources, in close dialogue with each other. Recently we have also conducted interviews with each other’s employees to provide input and inspiration for our individual leadership development.

Several of us are organized with duo leadership, where two leaders share responsibility for several offers. The rest of us have responsibility for our own offer, but naturally coordinate and collaborate closely as well. It is possible to arrange duo leadership based on your wishes and experiences.

Your position is assembled based on your competencies, experience and wishes – viewed in relation to the entire leadership group’s composition.

Who are you

You thrive in a general leadership role in the specialized social field and are good at creating meaning for the employees through a focus on professional leadership. You naturally gain employees’ support and find it easy to set a direction for your shared ambitions.

In a time when liberation is on the agenda, you must be able to work with distributed leadership, with professional coordinators and other resource persons. You likely have a strong interest in leadership and a leadership education. You have probably already been a leader in a citizen-facing service that provides support to citizens with significant disabilities.

The citizens in one of the services you will take responsibility for are adults with e.g. autism spectrum disorder, developmental disorder, congenital disability or acquired brain injury.

In the leadership group, most of us are pedagogues, but also nurses and one social worker. The most important thing is that you come with professionally relevant experience, which you can translate into benefits for the citizens via the employees.

Finally, it is important that you act confidently in a municipal organization, with many partners and multiple margins.

What you will be part of

We are an exciting workplace with competent leaders and dedicated employees, who every day strive to make a significant difference for the citizens. The citizens receive support in day services, 24-hour services, housing-type services, respite care and in their own homes. We provide support to 500 children and adults. 100 in their own home, 330 in housing-type services and 200 citizens are also in social and activity offers. We are more than 900 employees.

You will become part of our management team of 18 daily leaders and one unit leader. As daily leaders in the Unit for Disability you join one of the three leadership clusters where we support each other in both small and large tasks. In 2027 we will have a strong focus on Local-MED and establish 16 new Local-MED and one Area-MED. This is part of a new MED agreement in Slagelse Municipality and a way to create local dialogue and ensure influence.

In the leadership role you are supported by a work schedule planner, pedagogical coordinators and nurses.

We are part of the Center for Disability and Psychiatry, with whom we actively collaborate in the extended center governance in the Center for Disability and Psychiatry.

Throughout the center we have the Social Strategy as our common goal and linkage to the political ambitions in Slagelse Municipality.

See the leadership framework here .

Where will you be a leader

Currently there is a need for leadership in housing-type services for both young and middle-aged adults who have autism (two leaders for Rosenkildevej 101), as well as probably a housing-type service for older citizens with developmental disabilities who also require physical support. For all our services it is a special focus area to have a good collaboration with relatives, and for younger citizens there is often an increased focus on collaboration.

You may therefore specify your competencies in relation to which target groups you have experience with, as well as your experiences and approach to relative collaboration.

Your tasks

You will have a very varied workday, with a wide range of tasks within all leadership disciplines: professional leadership, personnel management, strategic leadership and administrative leadership. You must take responsibility for the pedagogical, health-care, operations and personnel management tasks.

More concretely, you must ensure that the core task and the citizens’ well-being, development and self-determination are the focal point of the professional effort. You do this by ensuring:

  • high quality in documentation, action plan work and professional follow-up.
  • the service meets the requirements of authorities, legislation and supervision.
  • stable financial operation, supported by the financial controller.
  • conducting ongoing performance reviews and competence development.
  • preparing and following up on current action plans.
  • a trusting and constructive cooperation with relatives and guardians.

Relationally it may be less concrete, but just as important, that you can create trust through presence and clear communication. This applies to all relationships and especially to partners such as authorities and other municipalities that have citizens in the service.

We also believe that a well-run service creates quality, well-being and development. It also contributes to retaining and attracting qualified employees, which is an important task for you.

We offer that you can take a diploma in leadership and will also in this way contribute to you both developing your leadership and becoming a durable leader.

Terms of employment

The position is 37 hours per week without maximum service time and you are salary placed on the relevant leadership agreement. You have a on-call duty every 19th weekend, whole weekend, which you can carry out from home.

Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local wage formation. We expect that the salary for most relevant candidates will lie at the start of the 50,000s per month exclusive of pension. The final salary is determined after negotiation, based on your qualifications and requirements in the position.

Workplace is in Slagelse. We conduct criminal record checks and child data checks in relation to employment.

Application deadline

Submit your application and CV no later than December 3.

Employment interviews are planned for December 9 and 10. If a second round is needed, they will be held on Tuesday, December 15.

For the interviews you will meet colleagues from the leadership group, employee representatives, a unit leader and an external consultant.

As part of the recruitment process we conduct personality testing as a basis for dialogue. We also obtain references and you may indicate who you expect to be reference persons – we will not contact them without your consent.

Can be obtained by contacting

  • Management advisor from Skrivsand, Michael Bager at telephone 30 18 17 14 or

Leadership framework in Slagelse Municipality

In Slagelse Municipality four focus words are central in the leadership framework: Promote, Connect, Simplify and Strengthen.

We want our leadership practice to reflect the organization’s movement, and the leadership framework should support our leaders in this. The leadership framework also reflects what employees can expect to meet at our workplaces, and what citizens can expect to meet in their contact with Slagelse Municipality. The leadership framework is indicative of how we want to cooperate with each other, the citizens, the businesses and our politicians.
