You will be responsible for an important task!

As the leader of the team you will have daily personnel responsibility for a team of study counsellors and reading guidance counsellors as well as administrative staff, who all work to develop and offer strong study guidance to UC SYD's students and provide and develop reading guidance services to students at higher education institutions across the Region of Southern Denmark.

You will be responsible for implementing the directorate's recent decision to create a common, central study guidance at UC SYD, where good guidance and common professional direction are key words for both the new common study guidance and the existing reading guidance. You will facilitate professional sparring, ensure cross- departmental coordination and support employees' engagement and professionalism.

You will be expected to create structure, evaluate initiated initiatives and continuously adjust in close dialogue with students, staff and management.

You will lead and qualify the work with reading guidance

In the area of reading guidance you as leader will ensure a coherent strategy for this area. This includes among other things management of the reading guidance team, further development of offerings and methods as well as support and follow-up on ensuring that the reading guidance services reach the students and with quality and relevance secure them a good study progression.

An important task will be to ensure fulfillment of the current contractual obligations in relation to the SPS scheme-sourced tender as main supplier of reading guidance services in the Region of Southern Denmark as well as lead UC SYD's application process in the upcoming tender process. You must also be a guarantee of a good and fruitful collaboration with the Danish Agency for Education and Quality and with the other educational institutions and their students whom UC SYD delivers reading guidance services to.

It requires you to think strategically, act operationally and be a visible and trust-evoking representative for UC SYD in cross-sector cooperation.

Your profile and background

We do not require a specific education, but familiarity with the education sector as well as guidance and SPS can be an advantage.

We expect you to be able to communicate and collaborate effortlessly at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

We also expect that you practice an open, listening and trusting leadership style, which allows space for employees' self-management and creates room for them to use their competencies in the best possible way.

You have experience with leadership, including preferably both personnel and project management, and relevant leadership training will be a plus.

As a person you are empathetic, ambitious, goal-oriented and clear. Since the team's main task in the coming years will be to implement a new, unified study guidance, where many new initiatives are tested and continuously evaluated, and that the reading guidance is tied to contractual relations, it is important that you have a broad overview and a systematic and analytical approach to the work, while being good at assessing and finding the right balance between initiating and completing projects and tasks.

About the department

You will become part of the Studieservice department. The total department consists of about 75 employees spread across campuses in Aabenraa, Haderslev, Kolding and Esbjerg.

Studieservice is characterized by a strong focus on the students and support for optimal study paths as well as a highly competent staff.

You will also become part of the overall leadership team in Studieservice, which consists of three leaders and one chief. In the leadership team we focus on open and honest dialogue and collaborative approach, and a high degree of sparring and helpfulness among each other. We want to give each other a confidential space where all questions and challenges are welcome and seen as development opportunities for the entire leadership team.

A permanent full-time position with the place of employment on Campus Esbjerg and with start on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Employment and pay are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
