About the job

We are seeking a strategic, relational and action-oriented educational leader for VIA Nursing Education at Campus Horsens, who can create direction, following and development – locally in Horsens and across VIA Nursing Education.

About the role

As an educational leader you will be a key person in an ambitious and engaged educational environment, where we work closely together to develop the Nursing Education and ensure high quality in teaching and the study environment. You will be responsible for the professional, pedagogical and organizational leadership of the Nursing Education in Horsens – including daily operations and the continued development of the program. The program enrolls about 150 nursing students per year, spread over 2 admissions.

You will manage personnel leadership of two team coordinators, about 21 adjuncts and lecturers, and 1 administrative staff member. The teaching staff work with teaching, development and research. The program is organized into 2 teams, each with its own team coordinator.

You will be part of a strong collegial leadership community with high ambitions and close collaboration. The management group consists of the educational leaders from the other six offerings and the Dean of Education, whom you report to. Here you actively contribute to setting the strategic direction for all seven offerings and developing VIA Nursing Education as one cohesive program. Together, the management group is responsible for translating strategies and reforms into practice and creating coherence between the shared direction and the local management of the education in Horsens.

Since January 2026 we have adjusted our internal organization so that distributed leadership can unfold more clearly – both locally and across. This means that as a leader you should be able and willing to create good conditions for collaboration, knowledge flow and a feedback culture, while at the same time supporting employees' professional responsibility and engagement.

Your leadership task

Leadership with us is about creating meaning and direction in collaboration. You should be present and accessible in everyday life, and at the same time able to set a clear strategic course that inspires and unites. You lead through dialogue, involvement and recognition – and you create following by leveraging employees' competencies.

You will be an important bridge-builder between the education and its partners – both internally on campus and externally in municipalities, region and clinical practice. You should be able to navigate in complex contexts and contribute to cohesion and development across disciplines and geographies.

A central task will be to set the direction for the further development of the education – in close collaboration with the management group and the teaching staff. In 2027 we will implement a new nursing education, and the work to develop and plan this will be a significant part of your leadership task in the coming years.

We envision that you

  • Have relevant leadership experience and thrive in the tension between strategy and practice.
  • Have a health sciences background and a relevant leadership qualification at master's level or equivalent, possibly supplemented with an educational qualification.
  • Have experience with personnel leadership of knowledge workers and educational development work.
  • Are a present and clear leader who creates direction, following and engagement through involvement and managerial feedback.
  • Have a view for both operations and development and can prioritize and create momentum in a complex daily life.
  • Are committed to building strong relationships and collaborations – both internally and externally.
  • Have good business understanding and experience with financial management.

We offer

As an educational leader at VIA Nursing Education in Horsens you will have a central role and a meaningful leadership task with clear responsibility, great influence and close interaction with staff, students and partners.

You will be part of an ambitious development effort where we together rethink Nursing Education in light of a changing health service and new requirements for future professional educations.

You will be part of an engaged professional educational community, where competent staff work closely together to create value for our students, stakeholders and the welfare society around us.

You will have good opportunities for professional and personal development, influence and responsibility for a complex and meaningful task in an environment where your ideas and initiatives can leave a mark – both locally and nationally.

You will be part of a living interdisciplinary campus environment with a focus on professionalism, well-being and collaboration.
