About the job

Are you passionate about leadership, authority and development? Can you create direction, quality and results in the future of visitation?

In Lemvig Municipality we are seeking a leader for Visitation and Aids as of 1 January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about leadership, sees opportunities and potentials and is motivated by creating results through others. You must be able to balance reliable operations, financial responsibility, professional quality with development and cross-cutting collaboration.

That is why we need you

We are in the midst of implementing the Older People and Health Reform and are simultaneously developing our internal visitation practice for nursing home visitation and short-term placements. Therefore we are seeking a leader who can create direction, quality and coherence in an organization in motion.

We have a number of laws that you must have an overview of. You must be able to spar with staff about decisions, appeal cases, contacts to the Appeal Board and everything that accompanies the authority area. You can show the way in the substantive and constructive dialogue with citizens and potentially their relatives.

You will play a central role in the implementation of the Health and Older People Reform as well as the continued development of our rehabilitative and holistic approach to citizens.

You will be responsible for

  • Professional leadership of the Visitation and Aids function.
  • Line management of 11 employees consisting of visitation officers, case-handling therapists and administrative staff.
  • Operations, quality and development of the authority area.
  • Budget responsibility for the department and, together with the Health and Older Persons Chief, the financial management of the authority area.
  • Implementation of political decisions and national reforms.
  • Cross-cutting collaboration across Health and Older People as well as other parts of the municipality, the Region and civil society.
  • To contribute to the overall leadership task in Health and Older People.

You will become part of

An department with professionally skilled staff who are dedicated to the authority task. In Visitation and Aids there are 4 case-handling therapists, 5 visitation officers for holistic care and 2 administrative staff. You will become part of a good multidisciplinary collegial environment where professional discussions, collaboration on common solutions and job satisfaction are highly valued. The following sections are part of Visitation and Aids' authority area: Servicelovens §§ 58a, 83, 83a, 84, 94, 95, 112, 113, 113b, 114, 116, 117a, 119. The Elderlaw sections §9, §10, §13, §16, §20.

In addition, you will, in Health and Older People, be part of a strong and engaged leadership community with 16 leadership colleagues. You therefore have access to many competencies, and we see strength in recognizing and leveraging our differences. We are each other’s precondition for success and expect you to contribute actively to both your own and shared results. You report to the Health and Older People Chief.

We imagine that you

  • Have experience with leadership and preferably the authority area.
  • Have a view of both people, professionalism and organization.
  • Have financial understanding and can ensure budget compliance.
  • Are strong in relationships and collaboration.
  • Are clear and present in your leadership style.
  • Can navigate safely in complex change processes.

In short, you see leadership as the best job in the world. You are focused on creating direction, following through and results through employees, relationships and collaboration. You can be close to the daily operations and at the same time lift your gaze to the strategic agendas.

If you do not have a leadership education, we expect you to be willing and interested in obtaining one. We place a high value on skills development.

You will succeed in the job because you

  • Practice good leadership close to employees and tasks.
  • Take as a starting point the citizens’ resources and wishes.
  • Work from a rehabilitative mindset with a focus on helping people to help themselves.
  • See the core task as supporting the citizen’s potential to regain or maintain the ability to manage everyday life as best as possible.
  • Manage to create results across organizational boundaries.
  • Understand different professional logics and can bridge them.
  • Can balance stable operations with development.
  • Have high tolerance for complexity and thrive in a field with many simultaneous agendas.
  • Face changes with engagement, perseverance and diplomatic patience.
