About the job

Do you want to work with legislation and at the same time be close to the political decision-making processes? Are you a strong lawyer who enjoys the craft of law, but who also wants the broader departmental task solving? Then you may be our new colleague in the Office for Social Housing (Almene Boliger) in the Ministry of Children, Equality and Housing.

About the position

As a lawyer in Almene Boliger, you will have a central role in the office's legal work. You will draft bills, make legal assessments, and help develop and interpret rules in the social housing sector. You will have the opportunity to follow the legislation all the way from initial considerations to political processing and implementation.

The position also extends beyond traditional legal work. You will therefore also take on a broader role in the office's cases and contribute to ministerial support, policy development, and decision briefs. We are therefore looking for a lawyer who both has an eye for legal quality and an interest in the political and professional context in which the law sits.

Your daily work will alternate between legal in-depth work, development of new solutions, and cases with short deadlines. You will be responsible for your own cases and work closely with colleagues with different professional backgrounds.

Your tasks will include

  • Legislation work, where you work with both the legal and political processes in connection with drafting and presenting proposed legislation
  • Legal assessments and interpretation of the legislation
  • Contributing to policy development, where you help identify challenges and develop solutions
  • Ministerial support, e.g. preparation of decision briefs and serving the Parliament, including hearings, answering questions from committees, etc.
  • Coordination and collaboration with the Danish Agency for Social and Housing, other ministries and central actors in the housing area.

About you

You have a Master of Laws (e.g., cand.jur., cand.merc.(jur.) or cand.soc.jur.) and preferably a couple of years of experience – e.g., from a ministry, an agency or the like. We also encourage newly graduated with strong professional competencies and an interest in legislative work to apply.

You are legally strong and eager to work with legislation and complex legal issues. At the same time you have an eye for the political context and are motivated to use your expertise broadly in a departmental everyday life where law, politics and economy interact.

We place emphasis on your ability to work independently and in a structured way, to communicate clearly and precisely, and to create progress – even when the tempo is high. It is an advantage if you have familiarity with the regulation of the housing sector, but the most important thing is that you are willing to immerse yourself in the area.

The Office

You will become part of the Office for Social Housing in the Ministry of Children, Equality and Housing’s Department. It is an area with high political priority and many agendas in motion – including how more affordable homes can be built, the framework for social housing construction, and the development of the social housing sector.

We are 8 colleagues with different professional backgrounds and experiences. We have a strong professional environment, but place just as much emphasis on the office being a good place to work. We help each other, continuously brainstorm on tasks, and maintain an informal tone. There is room for both professional discussions and social activities, and we prioritise a good collegial community.

We offer

With us you have the opportunity to develop as a lawyer and at the same time gain a broad departmental profile. You will receive early responsibility for your own cases, close professional sparring, and the opportunity to work with complex issues in a politically high-profile area.

We also emphasise flexibility and that an ambitious professional life should be possible to balance with life outside work.

About the Ministry of Children, Equality and Housing

The Ministry of Children, Equality and Housing works with central welfare areas with significance for people throughout life. We work to develop and implement policies that create good frameworks for children, families, the elderly and the housing sector – and contribute to a strong and cohesive welfare state. As a ministry, we support the minister and the government with professionally strong analyses, political advice and secure operations. We do this in close collaboration with municipalities, organisations and a broad range of stakeholders.

With us you become part of an organisation in development where high professionalism, integrity, and collaboration form the foundation of our work. We take responsibility, find solutions together, and create results that make a difference for citizens.

Salary and employment

Depending on qualifications and experience, you will be employed under the AC collective agreement as an attorney at law or a consultant. The position is full-time.

The workplace is the Ministry of Children, Equality and Housing, Stormgade 2-6, 1470 Copenhagen K.

The position is desired to be filled with effect from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.
