About the job

Mathematics Teacher at Lynghøjskolen: Are you the one who can make the equation add up?

Do you want to help create strong learning communities and at the same time be part of the team at a wonderful school, then perhaps you are the one we are looking for?

We are looking for a trained and skilled mathematics teacher for the upper secondary (udskolingen) at Lynghøjskolen in Roskilde from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible. If you can also teach subjects such as physical education, geography, social studies and/or history, that would be an advantage.

You will be attached to the 7th year group team, where you will also be a form teacher and enter into a close collaboration with your team around the year group.

We are looking for a teacher who

  • Can teach mathematics in the upper years (6th-9th grade)
  • Is academically ambitious and competent within your subject areas.
  • Can engage in a close and committed team-based collaboration
  • Would like to contribute to the school's important task of shaping students to be part of the school's communities
  • Works from a resource-oriented view of children, where you see students' and classes' strengths and resources
  • Is strong in relationship work with both children, colleagues and parents
  • Has good communication and collaboration skills

We offer

Lynghøjskolen is located in Svogerslev about 5 km west of Roskilde centre, surrounded by fantastic nature (Lynghøjsøerne and Boserup Forest) and a well-anchored association and cultural life. The school has about 503 students distributed over 2-3 streams in each year group. There are about 60 staff members.

We have a reputation for being a welcoming and positive staff group where you can always find support and collegial sparring. There is plenty of room for ideas and a culture of openness. Lynghøjskolen is an active school, and we are focused on increasing all students' learning, well-being and participation opportunities in strong general communities.

Our pedagogical stance is based on a systemic perspective as well as an acknowledging and resource-oriented view of children. We are focused on creating meaningful and inclusive communities that reflect a good learning environment and high well-being.

In the early years we work with Nest methods and have continuously had staff sent for training. Last school year we focused on PBL (Project Based Learning), and this school year 4th-9th year groups participate in a cross-municipal course in qualifying the teaching when there are two adults in the learning space and UDL.

School/home collaboration is highly prioritized and supported by a resource-rich parent community and a very engaged school board.

We can also offer

  • Sweet and welcoming students
  • Being part of year-group teams that have scheduled team meetings
  • Flexible working hours and joint preparation every Wednesday, because we prioritise collaboration
  • Leadership close at hand

The position is initially a full-time role and available from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to visit the school and say hello.
