Music therapist / music teacher – create quality of life through music

Would you like to use your musical expertise to create contact, security and quality of life for the elderly – especially people with dementia?

Lolland Musikskole seeks in collaboration with Older Adults & Health a music therapist or music teacher for an exciting project position at the municipality's care homes. Here, music becomes an active tool for presence, relationships and togetherness – even when words no longer suffice.

About the job

You will create musical activities based on the individual resident and at the same time inspire the care staff to use singing and music in everyday life.

You will, among other things,

• work person-centered with music as a form of contact
• create communal singing, reminiscence dances and musical moments
• use music in work with relation, well-being and arousal regulation
• give care staff courage and simple tools to use music themselves
• collaborate with dementia specialists and other professionals.

Who are you?

• You have a musical education, e.g. as a music therapist or music teacher, and can sing and accompany on, for example, piano or guitar.
• You are strong in relations, curious and good at adapting the music to people and situations. You preferably have experience with or an interest in person-centered musical interaction (PAMI) and music as a tool in dementia care.
• Experience from the elderly sector is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• You must have a driver's license and access to your own car.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is 14 hours per week until 31 December 2028 with start date 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

Employment at Lolland Music School with duties at care homes across the municipality.

Salary according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay formation.

Starting salary in the position is based on the Collective Agreement for music school teachers (DKK 32,228.00 – 39,580.67), depending on seniority. In addition, pension of 16.75%. Furthermore, there will be opportunities for negotiation of individual allowances based on relevant competences Application process
