About the job

Engholmskolen is seeking an engaged music teacher who is passionate about creating musical communities and inspiring learning experiences for our youngest students. Are you enthusiastic about music and about giving children in the primary years the joy of singing and exploring the world of music? And do you thrive in creating strong communities together with your colleagues? Then you may be the one we are looking for for an exciting part-time position at Engholmskolen.

We are looking for an engaged and creative music teacher for the primary years with a starting date of 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is approximately 30 hours per week.

About the position

We want a music teacher who can awaken the children's curiosity and joy of music through varied and practically oriented teaching. You should be keen to create environments where all children can participate.

With us, collaboration is a natural part of everyday life. You will become part of an engaged team where we plan, develop, and implement the teaching together with a shared focus on the students’ learning, development, and well-being.

More about the position and us

You will become part of an engaged, academically strong and helpful team where we share the task and take joint responsibility for the children's development and learning. Collaboration is not something we just talk about – it is something we do. Every day.

As a music teacher in the primary years, you will have the opportunity to influence the students' musical development and help create a school day filled with singing, rhythms, movement, and creative expression.

At Engholmskolen we work purposefully with co-teaching as a method to support community and create participation opportunities, safety, and recognizability for all students. That means we plan, develop, and adjust the teaching jointly, pay attention to smooth transitions, and stand together in the work with students’ learning and well-being.

In practice, we help each other, brainstorm the possibilities that arise, and draw on both the school’s development center, PPR (Pedagogical-Psychological Counseling), and management when it makes sense.

In recent years, the whole department has been on a joint training program focusing on co-teaching. We are well on our way to making this approach a natural part of our teaching and pedagogical practice – and of course you will join. Therefore you will have the opportunity to participate in this year’s competency program together with colleagues from the school, so you are well equipped and quickly become part of the community.

Every Wednesday we hold subject days, where you have your class all day. It provides time and space for deepening, strong relationships, and varied, practically oriented teaching, where students’ curiosity and engagement can blossom.

About us

At Engholmskolen we dare to challenge the conventional frameworks. We are a school with engaged staff who are passionate about their work and look forward to teaching and collaborating every day.

Together with the parents, we work to prepare our students – prepared for school life, further education, life, and the world around them. We believe that children do their best and we take responsibility for showing them the way.

The school is characterized by an engaged parent community, actively participating in the school’s life, as well as an ambitious and development-oriented staff and board. We have an informal tone, help each other, and place high priority on both the academic and social community.

Engholmskolen is a 3-track school with approximately 700 students from 0th to 9th grade distributed across three divisions. We also have a group arrangement for children with needs for an autism pedagogy approach, as well as a special school for youths aged 13 to 16.

The school is located in a scenic area close to forests and green spaces and is easily accessible by public transport. Engagement, trust, and professionalism are central values for us.

Why you should choose us

At Engholmskolen you become part of a workplace where collaboration, professional development, and good relationships are central. You will have the opportunity to put your musical touch on the primary years and contribute to music becoming a source of joy, creativity, and community for our students.
