About the job

Would you like to help lift nature in one of Denmark's most beautiful and diverse landscapes?

Do you have strong natural science competencies, an eye for biodiversity and a desire to both develop new nature projects and make them work in practice? Are you a guarantor of good relationships with landowners, volunteers, colleagues, authorities and other partners, regardless of opinions and professional background.

So maybe you are the one we are looking for.

At National Park Foundation Mols Bjerge we work to preserve, develop, strengthen and communicate the area's special values within the core areas of nature, landscape, culture, outdoor life, and local roots.

You now have the opportunity to become one of the two employees who help take care of the nature area in National Park Mols Bjerge.

You get nature as your workplace

The national park contains a particularly varied range of natural habitats, where the professional focus lies on species-rich pastures, old deciduous forests and the coastal landscapes.

You will work with both the daily management of existing nature initiatives and the development of new projects. You will be responsible for your own projects from idea and planning to implementation, administration and follow-up – always within a defined financial framework and with a focus on ensuring that the projects contribute to realizing the National Park Plan.

Depending on your interests and competences, there is also the possibility to work with geology, landscapes, marine projects and the coordination of volunteers.

On an ordinary workday you may both communicate natural science knowledge on the radio, talk to a landowner about juniper, order a tilting gate and create GIS maps with points where volunteers should count devil’s bit.

The work takes place in close cooperation with your colleagues, volunteers, landowners, authorities and a wide range of partners both inside and outside the national park.

Together with your colleague in the nature area you also take on the responsibility for the secretariat support of the park's nature committee.

You must be able to handle both expertise and people

We imagine that you have a relevant natural science education – e.g. as a biologist, forest and landscape engineer, nature manager or similar – and solid professional knowledge of nature and species management.

It is an advantage if you have experience with

  • grassland natural areas, coastal nature or ancient forests
  • project management and nature projects
  • relevant natural legislation, grant schemes and foundation applications
  • collaboration with landowners and other stakeholders
  • communication of natural science topics
  • QGIS

But your professionalism cannot stand alone. You must also be good with people.

In the job you meet many different people with different interests, perspectives and needs. It may be a volunteer who is passionate about a particular species, a landowner with something at stake, a citizen with opinions about nature management or a partner with whom a common solution must be found.

Therefore we emphasize that you are listening, approachable and good at building relationships – also when interests are not necessarily the same.

We also expect that you

  • can work independently and take responsibility for your own projects
  • are good at prioritizing, structuring and planning your time
  • thrive with both deepening, project management and smaller ad hoc tasks
  • have a sense for both the big picture and the administrative details
  • have high quality standards for your own and others' work
  • are positive, collaborative and good at engaging at different levels
  • wish to communicate and engage in dialogue with people about nature
  • have some knowledge of the park's nature, landscape and cultural history
  • have a valid driver’s license for a passenger car
  • are prepared that some meetings and other tasks may fall outside normal working hours.

A small secretariat with many possibilities

You will become part of a small secretariat with a park director and seven permanent staff, where we help each other with big and small tasks. We have different areas of expertise. Therefore we use each other's competences, collaborate across boundaries and have an informal and straightforward tone.

All staff report to the park director.

We offer

  • a workplace with the possibility to get close to both nature and the people who use it
  • exciting and varied tasks with great opportunity to influence and develop the projects yourself
  • a high degree of self-organization and flexible working hours
  • dedicated and helpful colleagues
  • a strong professional network across the five Danish national parks

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement) or in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Teachers' Organization and CO10 Central Organization of 2010 (LC/CO10 collective agreement) as well as the associated agreement for forest and landscape engineers.

The workplace is the national park foundation's secretariat, located at Molsvej 29, 8410 Rønde, and there will also be tasks that require travel to other locations. Some overtime can be expected in connection with meetings and events.

The position is 37 hours. Start date January 1, 2027.

We expect to hold interviews on Monday 2 November 2026 and possibly a second interview on Monday 9 November 2026.

Questions about the position can be directed to project leader Irene Møller on phone 5130 8069 or park manager Birgitte Lamp on phone 2113 7549.
