Network Technician at Dstny – Work with enterprise networks, WiFi and Fortinet

We operate the network for about 2,500 corporate customers. One of Northern Europe's largest hosted WiFi platforms runs with us on Ruckus SmartZone and the cloud platform RuckusOne. Now we are seeking a network technician who will be at the heart of daily operations together with our network consultants.

This is not a support line. You will get close to real customer networks – WAN, MPLS, hosted and dedicated firewalls, VPN, LAN and WiFi – and you join as a member of the network consultant team and work closely with our European GIS Team (Global Infrastructure Service) so we keep operations stable around the clock. You will primarily work from Nærum, but you will also need to travel, as our customers are spread across the country and some abroad.

The job – this is what a typical week looks like

You become a permanent part of the network consultant team and run daily operational tasks independently, while the more complex design tasks are tackled collaboratively.

Specifically

• Operations & monitoring: monitoring and operation of customers' LAN, WAN, MPLS and WiFi – troubleshooting and remediation before the customer notices it.
• The Ruckus platform: WiFi operations on Ruckus SmartZone and RuckusOne – controllers, AP management, client issues and radio tuning.
• Firewall & VPN: changes on hosted and dedicated FortiGate firewalls and VPN connections according to customer needs.
• Cases: resolution of changes and tickets in Zendesk – correct and timely, with ownership from start to finish.
• Collaboration: close sparring with your colleagues in the network consultant team and external partners about stable operation and smaller projects.

Who you are

You have a couple of years of experience as a network technician and operate independently in maintenance. You are comfortable with a command line, you troubleshoot in a structured way, and you take ownership of a case rather than passing it on. Most importantly: You deliver support at the customer's level and keep a cool head when something is on fire.

You have experience with most of

• LAN, WAN, WLAN and MPLS – and an understanding of how the parts fit together in operation.
• WiFi controllers, preferably Ruckus (SmartZone/RuckusOne) – or similar enterprise-WiFi.
• Firewalls and VPN, preferably FortiGate.
• Routing and switching from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, HP Aruba or MikroTik.
• Linux/Unix and command line interfaces.
• Direct customer contact and case handling over phone, email and ticket system.

Requirements

• Danish and English in writing and speech.
• A driving license for a standard car – for customer visits.

An advantage, not a requirement: Certifications within Ruckus, Fortinet (NSE) or CCNA. If you don’t have them, we will train and certify you along the way.

Shifts

Our customers' business runs 24/7, and so does our operation. In time you should be open to joining a duty roster as a back-up to the IT consultant on-call duty. We state this now so you know what the role entails – it's not from day one.
