As an employee in the Skovbo department at Sukkertoppen, your task is to support people with mental illnesses in their development. The Skovbo position can be combined as an evening/night shift or as a day/night shift, depending on your preference.

Day shifts and the evening shift will be planned in the Skovbo department.

As a night shift you will be part of a fixed rotation with colleagues from all 6 departments, so you will also become familiar with several of the citizens across the entire Center Sukkertoppen.

There are 3 night shifts; you are awake during the night shift and you will work together during the night, helping each other with the tasks that may arise during the night.

About us

Sukkertoppen is a social-psychiatric residential facility in Vejle Municipality. We have room for 46 residents distributed across 5 departments. We also have a night warming room that is open from 21:00-08:00.

We expect from you

• You must have a qualification as a nurse, social and health care assistant, pedagogue or similar
• You must know your profession and especially have competencies in collaborating with other people and creating development
• You must, in particular, be curious about other people and wish to understand them and their life situation. You should be able to take an interest in and ask questions about another person in a way that makes them feel met and understood
• You must be inclusive and trustworthy and able to meet others with authenticity, warmth and honesty
• You must be able to collaborate closely with other professional groups on complex psychosocial tasks, and you should be able to give and receive constructive feedback
• You must also be able to engage in close interaction with colleagues and management
• You must know and respect your own and others’ boundaries and be good at communicating clearly and directly in a caring manner
• You must be able to act independently and remain calm in pressurized situations
• You must be able to see yourself working purposefully with Sukkertoppen’s vision, which is “We are ONE Sukkertoppen, We are brave with will, We dare to shape life and the future

Work hours and shifts

The position is 32-37 hours per week. You will have a mix of day and night shifts or evening-night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays (on average every 3rd weekend, in a 12-week base cycle).

You are educated as a nurse, social and health care assistant, pedagogue or similar.

You thrive in collaboration with others and know how to support people in their development. You are curious about other people and their life situations and want to understand their perspectives.

You meet people with empathy, respect and authenticity. At the same time you are clear in your communication – both in teamwork with colleagues and in contact with residents.

You are able to stay calm and act professionally, even when everyday life occasionally becomes busy or challenging.
