Nurse for meaningful work at the intersection of health and social care

Bostedet Høvejen is seeking a licensed nurse for a position of 30–37 hours per week.

Do you want to use your health care knowledge close to residents’ daily lives and at the same time contribute to developing and quality-assuring health care practice across a residential facility? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

At Bostedet Høvejen, adults with developmental disabilities and varying support needs live. As a nurse, you will be an important professional resource in the house and also part of the residents’ daily lives. You will help create coherence between health care efforts, the pedagogical practice, and each resident’s life, wishes, and needs.

Høvejen is a residential facility where staff with different professional backgrounds collaborate to create a safe and meaningful daily life for the residents. We emphasise getting to know each resident’s desires, hopes, and dreams and translating professional knowledge into support that works in everyday life.

A day close to the residents

Your workday generally begins together with the residents and your colleagues from Monday to Friday. In the morning you participate in supporting the residents to have a secure and good start to the day and to get to work or day services.

It gives you the opportunity to have a good understanding of the residents in their daily surroundings and build relationships that support you in spotting changes in their health and well-being early. You contribute with nursing observations, assessments, and preventive actions, and you gain insight into how the actions work in practice.

After the morning, your primary focus will be the health care function. Here you work closely with the department head, the other health staff in the unit, and your colleagues.

Your central tasks

You will play a central role in coordinating, supporting, and quality-assuring the health care activities in close collaboration with the department head and your colleagues.

Your main tasks will be to

• Support safe medication management, including dispensing, unit-dose medications, prescription renewals, and contact with pharmacy and physician
• Ensure quality and ongoing updating of health care documentation in Sensum One
• Coordinate health care interventions and contribute nursing assessments in dialogue with doctors and other partners
• Educate and guide colleagues in medication handling and other health care interventions with a focus on hands-on learning
• Be a visible and accessible collaborative partner for your colleagues with a view to strengthening their competencies
• Contribute to the implementation and follow-up of new health care initiatives
• Plan self-checks and follow up on undesired events in cooperation with the department head
• Participate in the cross-cutting network for health professionals
• Help ensure that the health care perspective becomes a natural part of the overall effort around the residents

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who

• Is a trained nurse and has Danish authorization
• Has a solid health care foundation and works systematically and responsibly
• Has solid experience with medication handling, health care documentation, and quality assurance
• Can convey health care knowledge in a clear and practical way
• Wants to educate, guide, and strengthen your colleagues professionally
• Can maintain an overview and follow through on tasks
• Thrives in a multidisciplinary environment where pedagogical and health care perspectives meet
• Is curious about residents’ communication, behavior, and individual needs
• Can create trust and meet both residents and colleagues with calmness, respect, and warmth

Experience from the disability sector, social psychiatry, or a residential facility is an advantage but not a requirement. The most important is that you want to bring your nursing professionalism into residents’ daily life and see the value of working relationally and across disciplines.

Practical information

The position is to be filled by 1 January 2027.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay setting.
