About the job

It is so rewarding to work with our patient group. Many of them are vulnerable and with somewhat precarious lives, and we really make a difference for them.

The collaboration between doctors and nursing staff is fantastic.

We have fun in the staff group, even though we can be busy at times. We have good self-irony, and we think we are funny.

We have good psychological safety.

This is how the staff describe everyday life on K0161 – and it is precisely the combination of professionalism, community and humor that we would like to invite you to become a part of.

At the Gastro-Medical Ward K0161 at North Zealand Hospital we are looking for a nurse who wants to make a difference for patients with complex gastromedical problems.

Maybe you are newly qualified and looking for a place where you can develop. Maybe you have experience from another medical or surgical specialty and want to try your hand at gastroenterology. Or perhaps you have many years of experience and are seeking new professional challenges.

The most important is not how much gastromedical nursing you already know. The most important is that you want to learn and be part of our community.

What will you be working with? K0161 is a specialized gastromedical ward normed to 12 patients per 1 January 2027. The ward is part of the Surgical Department at North Zealand Hospital. We work with a varied patient group, and you will among other things meet patients with:

  • Liver cirrhosis and complex hepatological issues
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and biological treatment
  • Acute pancreatitis
  • Social and psychosocial challenges

We work from the Fundamentals of Care, where the relationship with the patient, quality in nursing and patient involvement are central elements.

Who are we? We are a staff group with broad diversity consisting of registered nurses, social and health care assistants, a pharmaconomist and a department physiotherapist with different ages, backgrounds and many years of varied experience. We see our differences as a strength, as we can learn from each other and bring different perspectives and competencies into play.

We have a close multidisciplinary collaboration with doctors and other professional groups. We believe that the best patient pathways are created when we use each other's competencies and speak openly together.

And social life means a lot to us. We want to be a workplace where there is room for high professionalism and development, but also humor and a good laugh in everyday life. We prioritize a collegial sense of community and also participate in social events outside working hours across professional groups.

Who are you?

  • You are a licensed nurse and want to work with both acute, complex and longer-term patient pathways
  • You are professionally curious and interested in understanding the connection between the patient's symptoms, disease and treatment
  • You want to develop your nursing competencies and become more skilled within, among other things, observation, clinical assessment, medication management and care of the medical patient
  • You thrive in a everyday life where there can be many different patient pathways, and where you must be able to maintain overview and prioritise your nursing tasks
  • You enjoy working closely with doctors, social and health care assistants and other professional groups and see the multidisciplinary collaboration as an important part of a good patient pathway
  • You actively contribute to a good professional and social working environment and want to both share your own knowledge and learn from your colleagues

Mentor arrangement We know it takes time to learn a new specialty and/or a new staff group. Therefore you will receive an individually tailored introduction program and a mentor, so you gradually become familiar with the specialty and take on more responsibility as you are ready.

We place emphasis on it being safe to be new with us. You should be able to ask for help, spar with your colleagues and speak up if there is something you are unsure about.

Practical The position is 32-37 hours per week with mixed shifts in a two-shift system. You will have weekend shifts every 2nd or 3rd weekend, and you have influence over your own duty roster.

Start date: 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

You will be employed under the Agreement for non-leading staff in the Region’s Pay and Tariff Board area. You are under employment subject to the working time agreement in force between the Regions’ Payroll and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses Organization.
