About the job

Do you want to be part of making a difference for children and young people with a wide range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism and personality disorders – and are you keen to develop yourself in a specialized, but safe and collegial ambulatory environment?

We are expanding and are now seeking a nurse for Ambulatorie 2 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Odense.

The position is established as part of expanding capacity to reduce diagnostic and treatment rights.

The position is a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week with start 1.12.26 or after further agreement. Working hours are daytime with weekends and public holidays off. Additionally a flex agreement for ambulatory nurses has just been concluded, which provides flexibility in everyday life.

About us

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Southern Denmark merged in 2023 and has departments in Aabenraa, Esbjerg, Vejle and Odense.

The position is organizationally attached to Ambulatorie 2 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Odense, which conducts assessment and treatment of children and young people at main function level.

Since September 2026 we have been undergoing a large reorganization, and continue to implement new workflows.

Ambulatorie 2 is divided into 2 teams, namely Pediatric Team and Youth Team. The available position will be in the pediatric team, where the age group is 4-13 years.

Your upcoming nursing colleagues highlight that the best thing about working in the ambulatory is:

“We meet many sweet children and families. The best is to make a difference. And there is plenty of opportunity to develop professionally with many exciting tasks”

”We are a respected professional group in the department that is listened to in assessment and treatment”

”We can handle difficult situations, but we are good at supporting each other across professions. It is always possible to ask for help. And we are a collegial group who care for one another. It can be a Friday bar or a creative afternoon. We prioritize taking breaks together during the day ”

Your tasks

As a nurse in Ambulatorie 2 you will – depending on competencies and experience – among other things work with:

  • Participation in assessment and treatment of children and young people with a wide range of diagnoses at main function level
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with specialists, psychologists and other professional groups on planning and follow-up of patient pathways
  • Medication follow-up and support to ensure good compliance in close cooperation with doctors
  • Psychoeducation for parents and participation in group programs for children with ADHD and autism
  • Observations in school environments in connection with assessment – a driving license is therefore necessary
  • Close contact and collaboration with families and municipal partners

We offer

  • An exciting specialty where you get the opportunity to build and develop your competencies
  • An ambulatory with high professionalism and a strong collegial community, where we help each other in daily life
  • Good opportunities for competency development – e.g., courses and eventually possibility for specialized training in psychiatric nursing
  • Collegial sparring, conferences and supervision
  • 3 weeks structured introduction. Thereafter a mentorship scheme – where tasks are adapted to your competence level

We would like

  • Be a licensed nurse – preferably a specialist nurse in psychiatry.
  • Have an interest in psychiatry and especially for children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders
  • Have experience from psychiatry or pediatrics
  • Want to develop yourself in the area
  • Thrive working both independently and interdisciplinary
  • Be willing to cope with a sometimes high work pace and a day with varying tasks
  • Want to see and support the whole person – physically, mentally and socially
  • View involvement of relatives as a natural and important part of nursing
  • Want to contribute to a good working environment and a strong educational environment for students – we educate nurses, doctors, psychologists and medical secretaries.
