Nurse for the gynecological/obstetric area in Thisted

We have a maternity leave vacancy of 30 hours/week available for occupancy from January 1, 2027 to August 31, 2027. The shift pattern is mixed shifts of 8.25 and 12 hours duration.

Your primary tasks

• Care for hospitalized pregnant women with complications
• Maternity care for normal as well as complex courses
• Care for newborns treated for jaundice
• Care for children receiving tube feeding
• Maternity clinic with among others PKU, hearing screening and screening for congenital cataract as well as jaundice
• Care for gynecological patients, including postoperative care and care of patients with complex comorbidity
• Assistance to midwives during births when it is busy

About the department

We are a small and “awake” specialty department with about 600 births per year. We have a high professional quality and the country’s highest user satisfaction. We deliver with pregnant women from gestational age 35+0, though with certain exceptions such as insulin-requiring diabetes. We receive families with late preterm babies for breastfeeding establishment from Aalborg. It is highly prioritized that everyone feels welcome and that no one feels rejected. Here there is space and calm for family formation.

We offer family rooms to all postnatal mothers, so the partner can stay overnight freely. The hospital works according to WHO’s principles for baby-friendly hospitals, where breastfeeding guidance and information to women are top priority.

The department also encompasses the gynecological specialty, such as late abortions, admission after planned surgery, and occasionally acute gynecology.
