Nurse with clinical supervisor function

Then you now have the opportunity for an exciting position as a nurse with clinical supervisory function at the Gastroenterology Department, K0161, Surgical Department, North Zealand Hospital.

As a nurse with clinical supervisor function you will join our team of clinical supervisors with high professional standards, all of whom are passionate about pedagogy, the students, and the gastroenterology- and surgical specialty.

Which patient groups do we work with? At the Gastroenterology Department we specialize in the hepatology specialty. We provide nursing care for patients admitted with, among other things, liver cirrhosis and complications thereof. Patients often have substance abuse and social problems, and we are passionate about helping these people. We also treat patients admitted with acute pancreatitis, where fluid and pain management are essential. In addition we treat patients with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease).

This patient group is often young people with high level of self-care and compliance, who must learn to live with a newly discovered chronic disease.

Nursing care for the gastroenterology patient is versatile, and we work from the patient's physical, psychological and existential needs in both planned and acute patient pathways.

Who are we? We are a mixed staff group consisting of nurses, social and healthcare assistants, a pharmaconomist and one department physiotherapist. We have a broad diversity in the staff group including ages, cultures and years of experience. The clinical supervisor's tasks will include

• Close collaboration with the coordinating clinical tutor in the surgical department and the other clinical supervisors in the department.
• To select teaching and study forms that support the student’s progression, both professionally and personally
• To plan and conduct education and evaluation conversations, including formulating concrete assessments in collaboration with the student
• To manage organization and coordination of educational programs, with the preparation of a study plan
• Contribute to cross-cutting teaching initiatives at hospital level
• Contribute to ongoing preparation of the training site accreditation

We want a nurse who

• Has a degree as a clinical supervisor or wishes to obtain it (equivalent to a minimum of 1/6 diploma education)
• Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a nurse, preferably within gastroenterology
• Has good pedagogical abilities
• Is motivated for professional and personal development
• Is proactive and responsible
• Can demonstrate independence combined with good cooperative skills
• Contributes with creativity and a positive attitude

Terms of employment The position is 32/37 hours per week, shifts every 4th weekend and approx. 3 evening and/or night shifts in a 4-week period. The work is distributed with 2 days per week in the clinic and 3 days as supervisor on average. The position as nurse with clinical supervisor function reports to the chief nurse of the department.
