New colleague for Hjemvejen – flexible Housing First housing support

Hjemvejen in Herlev is a municipal offering that for almost three years has provided flexible housing support to people with different challenges under the Social Services Act § 85a (Housing First) and § 85.

We primarily support people who

• come from homelessness (shelter or crisis center)
• are at risk of homelessness, for example due to eviction from a home
• move into their own housing after a longer stay at a residential facility under the Social Services Act § 107

We support many citizens. Some live with substance use issues, mental illness or financial challenges, while others have functional impairments related to autism or ADHD. Regardless of the challenges, we work recovery-oriented with a basis in the individual’s wishes, hopes and dreams for the future.

We are a small team consisting of four housing support workers, a professional coordinator and a manager. You will become our fifth employee and will have close collaboration with both municipal advisers and other partners in the municipality and region. Our approach is based on the Housing First methods, CTI (Critical Time Intervention) and ICM (Intensive Case Management).

That means, among other things, that we

• work in a holistic and coordinating way around the citizen
• start from the individual’s needs and goals
• arrange support flexibly and adjust the approach continuously
• are outreaching and persistent, even when contact is difficult to establish or maintain

Who are you?

You may for example be educated as a social educator or have another relevant social professional background.

In our team we already have strong competencies within homelessness, substance use issues and mental illness. Therefore we are particularly looking for a colleague with experience and interest in the autism field, as we are experiencing an increasing influx of younger citizens with these challenges.

• uses both professional expertise and humanity to support people in maintaining their housing and creating the desired development in their lives
• has experience with and interest in people with autism, ADHD and other diagnoses as well as socially vulnerable citizens
• meets people without prejudice, with curiosity and respect
• has concrete professional tools and is happy to share knowledge with colleagues
• works in a structured, patient and independent way in long-term recovery processes

Experience with housing support in own housing is an advantage, but your motivation for the area and ability to work independently are at least as important.

Salary and employment

The position is 30-37 hours per week.

The working hours are planned flexibly based on citizens’ needs within the time window 8:00–21:00. The majority of the work takes place during daytime on weekdays, but there are also occasional evening shifts and work every 5th weekend during daytime.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of Ny Løn. Start as soon as possible or no later than 1 January 2027.

Herlev Municipality has a smoke-free work time.
