About the job

Would you like to help create strong rehabilitation pathways close to the citizen's daily life?

As an occupational therapist on the upcoming health and care placements in Nyborg, you will play an important role in citizens' rehabilitation journeys – with a particular focus on activity, function and mastery of everyday life.

At the same time, you will have the opportunity to help shape a new regional offer in Citizen‑Friendly Health.

About the health and care placements

From 1 January 2027, Citizen‑Friendly Health at Odense University Hospital will take over responsibility for the regional health and care placements in Nyborg.

The placements are aimed at citizens who need health professional interventions, treatment, care and rehabilitation for a period. The citizens primarily come from a hospital ward, and the goal for most is to return to their own home.

In Nyborg, a 20‑bed offer is established, where occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, social and health care helpers and assistants work closely together.

Our collective goal is to help the citizen return to their own life with dignity, efficient pathways and high professionalism. We believe rehabilitation succeeds best when the citizen is an active co-player, and when the professions are put into play across disciplines.

Your role as an occupational therapist

As an occupational therapist, you will have a particular focus on how the citizen can regain or maintain the ability to perform activities that make everyday life function.

You will be an active part of the multidisciplinary team and contribute your occupational therapy expertise to the overall assessment, planning and follow‑up of the citizen's rehabilitation journey.

Your tasks will include

  • examine, assess and support the citizen's activity and functional abilities, including ADL
  • plan and implement occupational therapy interventions based on the citizen's goals
  • assess cognitive challenges and initiate relevant interventions/ training with meaning for the citizen's everyday life
  • assess the need for assistive devices and other compensatory solutions
  • guide citizens and relatives in relevant occupational therapy interventions
  • contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and shared plans for the citizen's course

We imagine that you

Are a licensed occupational therapist and thrive with working broadly with rehabilitation and complex citizen pathways.

Furthermore, we would like you to

  • have an eye for the citizen's overall daily life and the activities that are important for the individual
  • be able to work independently and at the same time value close multidisciplinary collaboration
  • be able to adapt your efforts to citizens with different functional abilities and needs
  • work in a structured way and be able to prioritize your tasks
  • be interested in helping to build a new workplace and a shared professional culture.

Experience with rehabilitation, dysphagia, geriatrics, cognition or complex citizen pathways is an advantage but not a requirement.

With us you get

  • a meaningful daily life with varied and complex citizen journeys
  • opportunity for professional development and sparring
  • a close multidisciplinary collaboration where your professional skills are an important part of the overall effort
  • opportunity to influence the occupational therapy practice
  • a workplace focused on quality, coherence and the citizen's needs.
