The Physio- and Occupational Therapy Department at Holbæk Hospital is seeking an occupational therapist for a permanent position from 01.12.2026 or as soon as possible.

We are looking for an engaged occupational therapist who would like to join our medical/surgical team.

About us

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and dietary treatment to patients on the hospital’s inpatient wards and outpatient clinics. We place emphasis on high professionalism and have a focus on flexible and efficient workflows. In the Occupational Therapy department at Holbæk Hospital, we are organized into two teams: a medical/surgical team that handles tasks across the hospital, and a neurological team that is attached to the ward for patients admitted with a stroke.

You will become part of the medical and surgical occupational therapy team, but as needed you will also be required to contribute across teams and take on tasks in the stroke team. Therefore it is important that you thrive in a daily life where you work at a specialist level within your own team and can apply your basic occupational therapy competencies when help is needed across departments.

Your tasks

As an occupational therapist you are a central part of the patient care pathway, where you

• Contribute to clarifying the patient’s motor and processual dysfunctions through, among other things, ADL observation
• Plan and perform training
• Carry out assessment and treatment of dysphagia, including preparing eating and drinking guidelines
• Focus on interdisciplinary sparring and convey knowledge to other professional groups, as well as to patients and relatives
• Assess potential and rehabilitation needs and develop rehabilitation plans, often in collaboration with a physiotherapist
• Participate in care planning meetings and support good discharge planning
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences
• Assess the patient’s need for assistive devices

As an occupational therapist in the department you also contribute to clinical teaching by having an occupational therapy student join your interventions and ongoing professional sparring.

• Has knowledge of or experience with assessing and treating dysphagia
• Contributes to active hospitalization and promotes a rehabilitative approach
• Thrives in a changing daily life, with many balls in the air
• Is adaptable, solution-oriented and actively helps to prioritize today’s tasks
• Communicates clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, since collaboration and dialogue with different professional groups at the hospital and our municipal partners are an important part of everyday life
• Has Danish authorization as an occupational therapist

Salary and employment terms

The medical/surgical team works all year round in fixed rounds. After an introductory period you will participate in weekend and holiday shifts.

Starting salary for employees covered by a collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
