About the job

Are you an occupational therapist and do you find it meaningful to work with adults with developmental disabilities, and do you want to be part of a multidisciplinary strong community in an open and developing environment? Then now is the time to seize the opportunity!

Sedenhuse is seeking occupational therapists for a multidisciplinary practice with high ceilings and all possibilities to put occupational therapy into play while life is lived! Here you will be part of a work focusing on independence, mastery of one's own life and social development – with professionalism, collaboration and a little room for creative solutions.

About the job You work with targeted efforts that take their starting point in the individual citizen's needs, wishes and possibilities. This can include activities, structure, training and support, which make everyday life more manageable and meaningful.

You will collaborate with colleagues across professions and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the effort. Reflection, systematization and citizen involvement are important parts of the work – good intentions are fine, but it is even better when they also work in practice.

You will join in the support and care of residents on equal footing with your other colleagues, who are SSA, pedagogy/education assistant and our fixed team of substitutes.

What you get with us The work takes place in an organization that works with social care and with creating inclusive, safe and developing environments for people with special needs. Cooperation, respect, professionalism, well-being, inclusion and citizen involvement are central values for us at Sedenhuse.

You will have the opportunity to develop yourself both personally and professionally through the work. There is focus on a supportive and professional working environment where independence, dialogue and cooperation go hand in hand.

  • Opportunity to put your professional imprint on the development of the work and the culture
  • An informal working environment with the citizen in focus
  • An engaged staff group that looks forward to welcoming you
  • Working hours typically between 30 - 37 hours per week with some flexibility and influence.
  • Possible mentor scheme at start
  • Focus on our working environment and social capital
  • Permanent employment with pay and pension according to applicable collective agreement, where pay depends on experience and qualifications.

Your qualifications We are looking for you who want to bring your professionalism into play in collaboration with citizens and colleagues. You work respectfully, structured and with a view that small steps can also be great progress.

  • You are trained as an occupational therapist.
  • You translate and take responsibility for your occupational therapy knowledge and you can apply it with concrete actions in the citizens' everyday lives.
  • You work systematically with goals, observation, evaluation and documentation in Nexus.
  • You can collaborate across professions and actively contribute to shared reflection.
  • You communicate clearly, respectfully and constructively.
  • You can work both independently and as part of a team.

It is an advantage if you can recognize yourself in several of these points

  • You have experience in supporting people with special needs, preferably with dual diagnoses.
  • You are creative and flexible in your approach to tasks.
  • You are robust and maintain overview when everyday life changes direction.
  • You are interested in citizen involvement and development of self-management.
  • You thrive with ongoing learning, professional sparring and constructive communication.
  • You are or want to become a clinical supervisor in the house.

Workplace The workplace is the Residential Facility Sedenhuse at Bjerggårdshaven 39, 5240 Odense, Denmark. Here you will become part of a work environment with focus on cooperation, high professionalism, trust and responsibility.
