About the job

Would you like to join our team?

Do you want to be close to the decision-making processes in a large organization and have a central role in both operations and development tasks close to management and department leaders at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital?

Are you seeking a broad task portfolio, and are you analytical, comfortable with data and numbers?

Then we would like you as a new colleague in the planning team with employment from 1 January 2027.

We are looking for a new skilled colleague for our team, who assists the hospital’s department heads and management with solid financial management, data, planning and development tasks as well as strategic management support. With the establishment of the Health Council Southwest Jutland, the tasks will also include political support.

About the job The Planning Team solves a range of diverse tasks and has, among other things, the mandate to prepare analyses and decision bases for the hospital’s management, service the hospital’s departments, and contribute to health-related tasks in the Southern Denmark Region. Finally, the team also provides political support to the Health Council Southwest Jutland.

A typical workday may consist of performing financial follow-up together with a department and discussing how the department handles its finances in light of the current situation. You will be the single point of contact for selected departments. It may also be that you work on a strategic proposal about capacity or selected patient pathways, as you will be involved in both case handling and project work.

We also prepare various analyses and management information, so you may be deeply immersed in data, or perhaps you are involved in a capital project. Finally, you may be putting the finishing touches on a case presentation or slides for the Health Council.

In other words, you will have a central position in the organization with broad contact across both the administrative staff at the hospital and across the hospital’s departments. Therefore it is important that you are able to operate in a cross-disciplinary organization, and can build good collaboration both internally and externally.

Expectations of you We expect that you have a relevant higher education, such as cand.scient.pol., cand.oecon., cand.polit., cand.merc. or another relevant master's degree. It is advantageous if you have experience with management support, planning tasks, data analysis and public-sector finance. You may also be a recent graduate. If you are a recent graduate, we will take care to give you an extra good introduction to your first job.

You should be collaborative and have good communication skills, including the ability to convey complex issues and financial key figures in an easy and clear manner. You should have solid planning and data competencies and be the guarantor of timely deliveries to both department heads, management, and the region. As a person you have impact, and are goal-oriented. You solve tasks with high quality so that we succeed together in putting the patient first.

In addition, we place emphasis on that you

  • are independent, and work persistently and structured
  • maintain an overview without losing the sense of detail
  • are an empathetic and proactive team player
  • are collaborative, and contribute positively to the task solving

We can offer The Finance and Planning Department is a staff department at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital. We are a total of 33 employees in the department. The department consists of several teams: Finance, Payroll, Procurement and Planning. You will become part of the Planning Team with 9 employees. We also expect to expand the team with a Data Unit from 1 January 2027.

In the Planning Team we have a varied everyday life with meaningful tasks. We highly value the collaboration with management, the rest of the hospital, our colleagues in the department and with each other. We emphasize that there is room for good humor and a smile on the face, even though everyday life can be busy. When you start with us, we can guarantee that you will never have two days that look the same. We can also promise that you will be part of making a difference for the patients at the hospital in cooperation with dedicated colleagues.

It is important to us that you are well prepared for your new position. Therefore we ensure that you go through an individually tailored onboarding program, which provides a thorough introduction to the tasks and the tools we use.
