About the job

Are you present, patient and good at creating calm and structure in everyday life? Do you thrive working closely with people and helping to make a difference for adults with developmental disabilities?

As we welcome new residents, we want to increase the number of staff at our offerings. We are therefore looking for an engaged care assistant who would like to join a safe work community, with a focus on professional deepening and personal development. We are curious, reflective and have a close collegial collaboration, where we develop practice and each other together.

About Kastanien and Skovbrynet

We are a specialized offer for adult citizens with developmental disabilities and complex developmental disorders, who need a structured and recognizable daily life. We have a special focus on creating safe Rahmen for both residents and staff, among other things through the work with 24-hour rhythm plans for the residents and a focus on a good working environment for the staff.

With us we work purposefully with a neuro-pedagogical approach, where structure and predictability are the foundation for the residents' well-being. Through recognizable routines and individual daily rhythm plans we create safe frameworks that give overview and calm in everyday life.

We always start from the individual resident's needs, nearest development zone and interests. Time and presence are a priority in our work, because we know that strong relationships are crucial to create development and quality of life.

Our pedagogical practice is anchored in the methods Gentle Teaching, low arousal and neuro-pedagogy. We also support the residents, among other things, with the basis of prepared communication assessments and risk assessments, so their everyday life becomes as manageable, meaningful and coherent as possible.

We value professional development and curiosity highly. You will become part of a strong professional community where collegial sparring and external supervision across disciplines are a natural part of everyday life. This gives us the opportunity to continuously develop and qualify our practice – for the benefit of both residents and staff.

Close-to-nature surroundings that provide calm and pedagogical opportunities

We are located in an area with forest and a fjord nearby, and our outdoor areas provide good conditions for calm, activity and sensory experiences. Nature is actively used in our pedagogy for walks and bike rides, breaks or as a quiet place to withdraw. Our sensory garden provides opportunities to work with the senses through scents, sounds and textures in an orderly outdoor space.

In addition, the area has a riding arena, horse stables and own horses, which for several residents create meaningful activities and good opportunities to work with presence, structure and physicality.

As a care worker you become an important part of the residents' daily life and a central support in the pedagogical environment. Your tasks will include:
