Optician or optician assistant sought for independent store on Stændertorvet in Roskilde

Do you want to be part of a small, personal optician shop in the heart of Roskilde, where you get responsibility, time for customers, and influence on everyday life?

Søren Frid Optique is a privately owned optician shop on Stændertorvet 6 in Roskilde with loyal, regular customers and an informal tone of voice. The shop is designed in a Nordic, modern style with a unique selection of frames, and we are ZEISS-certified with our own grinding workshop. We perform eye tests, fit contact lenses, and advise on glasses – and we take the time to do it properly.

We are now looking for a new colleague part-time (28-32 hours/week) to help run the shop with us. You can be a licensed optician/optometrist or an optical assistant – we will tailor the position and tasks to your background. The most important thing is that you are passionate about good customer service and want to be part of a small team.

Your tasks

Regardless of background you will work with

• Advice and sale of glasses, sunglasses, computer glasses, and contact lenses
• Fitting, adjusting and minor repairs of glasses
• Customer contact in the shop, on the phone and via email
• Contribute to daily operations – e.g. orders and contact with suppliers, light cleaning, etc.

As an optician/optometrist you will also be responsible for

• Eye tests and eye examinations – we have, among other things, OCT scanner and ZEISS VISUREF
• Fitting and control of contact lenses, including possibly overnight lenses
• Professional sparring with the rest of the team

As an optical assistant you will also be responsible for

• Administration of our lens subscriptions – follow-up, reorders and contact with customers
• Administrative tasks such as order handling, goods receipt and updating customer information
• Preparing customers for eye tests and assisting with simple measurements

We envision that you

• Either are a trained optician/optometrist with Danish authorization (new graduates are also welcome) – or you are a shop assistant, preferably with experience from an optician shop, but not required
• Are professionally curious and eager to learn – we will gladly give you more responsibility over time
• Like to advise and have an eye for what the individual customer needs
• Are structured and can keep track of details – e.g. subscriptions, orders and appointments
• Are self-driven and take responsibility in a small shop where we help each other
• Are accommodating and contribute to a good working environment
• Speak and write Danish

We offer

• A fixed part-time position of 28-32 hours/week in a shop with a short route from idea to action
• Time for the customers – no stopwatch on eye tests
• Modern equipment (including OCT scanner with fundus photography, tonometer, ZEISS VISUREF and VISUFIT) and our own grinding workshop

• Working hours within the shop's opening hours: Mon–Fri 10:00–17:30, Sat 10:00–14:00 [weekend shifts to be arranged]
